Anyone have a favorite recipe for Chicken Cilantro Soup? So we ADVers visit Joshua Tree vicariously...

I did a search and there so many varieties.

I've been working on my part number list of brake hose kits lately. It always makes me think of Robert, who played a part in making a hobby into a business.

It's been a little over a year since we lost Robert. I was not a close friend of his, just an acquaintance and customer. Even so, I was thinking about how often he still comes up in old threads I read, and how quickly time passes both during and after our time here. I searched for this thread so as to keep his presence and contributions known, especially to new members of this forum who may not have had the opportunity to interact with him.

Thanks Jim. Grieving for another friend this week that I was very close to. She was similiar to Robert in the way she touched a whole community. It's hard to loose a friend, but one that was a leader.....harder. Godspeed Robert.

My condolences, Jenna. Time heals, but does not replace.

I'm about ready to install one of his wiring harnesses... happy to have that from him, on something I'll enjoy, and which I believe will benefit from his quality work for many years.

Thanks Jim, I periodically think about him too while perusing this forum.

With sister who is shooting a wedding here, brother is in LA with my new niece. My siblings are very "seat of the pants", no way to make plans

This place is magic....I'm about to go wander in the desert.

And for the GPSers (finally bought one) the address is listed as 61715 29 Palms Hwy in Joshua Tree CA. On Hwy 62 between Park Blvd and Sunset Rd. Couldn't pull up Lat and Long.

    Amazing.

Unfortunately many of the old links are broken now. The Wirewerkes website exists but comes up blank for me. Does anyone know if there was any progress regarding the business being restarted? It would sure be a shame for Robert's work to end with him.

Chris Canterbury of Boxer Metal makes the center stand repair bushings after I suggested it. But I'm sure you are mostly interested in the wiring looms that Robert did a bustling business in. I thought there was at least one person interested in this but never heard more about it.

Bob Henig at Bob's BMW in Jessup may know more? I think he is also in contact with the family.

Jeez this brought back memories. Robert helped me so much when I was restoring my R50/2 back in the early 90's. I wanted nothing but real NOS parts, no repop stuff, and he went out of his way calling in favors to make sure that's what I got. Come to think of it, of the 5 awesome people that had a big hand in the project, only Ted Porter and I are still on this planet. Damn....time flies, memories fade, but I sure do miss him/them. Hope you're up there still laughing at me, Robert!
