I guess I get to update the map again.
Nice day for riding. I met up with enduro0125 for lunch in E. Aurora.
I was in E'ville on Sat. I thought about grabbing this tag.
But on that beautiful day, I knew I would be Bruced.
What does it mean to be "Bruced?"
There is a historic guy named Bruce who played in another tagging game on ADV, and he was always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Story is that he was second to the tag so much that he became an adverb.
Thanks for the explanation!
I've been there.
There is no shame in being "Bruced". People usually drop tags where they like to ride, eat, or visit. The whole idea is to get out and go for a ride.
I guess I still don't fully understand the rules.
So I understand how a Bruce can steal a tag after 72 hours, but what does "revert to the previous tag spot" mean? Sorry I'm slow.
Say you "grab" a tag and I post a Bruce. If you do not pick a new tag within 72 hours, I would get to pick the next tag. If there is nobody else that went for the tag but you, the tag reverts so that somebody else would have to grab the same tag. You lose the right to pick the next spot.
There's a lot of chatter in this thread because most of us have met and become friends over the last couple of years.
Gotcha, this made it a lot clearer. Thanks!
Took a half day vacation yesterday afternoon and got this, but home computer is not cooperating so I had to wait til I got to work this morning to post...
Also from yesterdays adventure, the new drop. The abandoned bridge on OLD RT 17 between Salamanca and Steamburg. This section of road through the reservation was "closed" and is no longer maintained but still very accessible. Travel at your own risk.
I think a photo of the road closed sign, from either side would be good enough if you don't want to go down the whole road, or cross that lovely bridge...
I don't think my bike can handle such a steep incline. I'm still on OEM tires.
A bit of history of the area.
