All premiums are set up to be middle of their tier, not quite as weak as a base model, and not as strong as the fully upgraded.

I thought you might have some personal experience to share how the SU-122-44 play vs the other tier 8 premium heavies/TDs.

Which is what we were always told was supposed the be the case.

There are arguments on the forums right now that, when in capable hands, the 122-44 is actually OP if used correctly.

Gosh, I sure hope so... but I'm at work, and still haven't played it.

Something in me told me to buy Gold for premium again, and in that there was the deal for 2500 gold, the 122-44, and a slot... still not sure I was thinking straight.

Yes, its frustrating. My accuracy seems to have improved, but now I rarely get an actual damaging shot without shooting gold. Most of my arty score is now in supporting damage, not kills.

I think something had to be done though, as it's refreshing to only see one or two arty per team. I've noticed that rounds tend to last a bit longer this way.

I think that arty should be in a support role...it should I would agree that the shots land on target more, and I think the hard damage (being on the end that gets hit) still seems to be there, but perhaps they are shooting more gold ammo.

I still really think that the best games are the ones with little to no arty....it opens up areas of approach.

I had a game the other day on stepps...wide open map with zero arty....it was an encounter battle. You all know the drill, some go to the flag and duke it out, others go to the other side and play peek-a-boom around the rocks. I took off and sat right smak dab in the center in a little hull down depression. Our side lost the battle of the rocks and was on its way to take the flag....right across the middle. All had battle damage and I was able to hold them off with a single JGPanther and our team got the win.

I was spotted, but in the hull down area shots just bounced off the top armor. Two memebers of my team came up to protect my flanks and we held them off.

We had positions in the wide open....and we sat there in hull down depressions and took our shots and won the game.....something that could not be done with arty on the map.

It was classic tank on tank battle, we did not move execpt to gain a better postiton to fire from.

Bottom line is that arty forces players to hug houses, bolders and not exploite the features of the entire map and game. I really think that wargaming has finally seen this and are intrested in having a game where the teamwork and skill of the players wins the battle not just who has the best arty players on the team.

I am more happy with the game, I also like that the arty is a little more thin skinned...there is a reason they are far behind the lines....it had a motor and tracks to move easy ie run away....not to play TD.

I couldn't tell the difference on the Obj 212. But then again, it didn't have any mobility to nerf in the first place.

Note the 50% off consumables bit. New guys: use the store to stock up as many as you can afford.

Hooked up with a HAVOK player this morning, 3 straight losses followed by 18 nearly-straight wins, only separated by a Draw in the middle of those 18. Hey, at least I finally got some quality WoT time in. Still haven't played the SU-122-44 I bought two days ago :-(

I like my ST1. It's pretty good. I can do 3k damage, get 1 kill, the rest of the team blows ass and I still usually better than break even.

Then there is the battle we win, somehow, I do 300 damage and lose 11k.
Really not sure about some of these wins. I don't think they are caps as I should notice that, and the other team still has players left :dunno

ah well. the important thing is my 2x did NOT come on one of my 3500 damage battles, but on the 300 battle. fucking every time.

Hell, I may have to buy back my E8 I just sold, if they're offering +100% credits... wonder how long that would take to profit from.

Dave, I have to say that I'm even more in awe now of your 5 day pass through the Proto than I was then......grinding 10K xp/day is about as much time as I can make. I can't imagine grinding 30-40K per day.
