OK - so only my second post in this new forum - but this ISNT a troll - look below at what Honda will be launching soon....

    Honda’s new fully automatic bike.

Honda has launched a fully automatic concept bike at the Tokyo motorcycle show, which it promises will make it to full production.

The DN-01 concept is a sports-tourer based around the Deauville v-twin 680cc engine, but Honda has taken out the standard motorbike gearbox and inserted a scooter-style continuously variable automatic system.
The rider will be able to choose between two different automatic modes - presumably one for sport and one for normal riding – and a fully manual option so the rider can choose when to change gear via the bar mounted buttons.

Although currently a concept Honda has said that it aims to put the bike on sale in the near future.

    Cool!

    I want the Akira toy.

I like the scoot...canyon carving without thay pesky gear changing crap (of course my ST has a 5 speed transmission so I barely have to shift on that either).

No step-through design -- it's an automatic motorcycle with floor boards, not a scooter. They'll probably sell tons of them to commuters in Europe. Don't know why they're using a 680cc motor instead the 800cc twin from the PC800. The good news is, Suzuki will try to outdo them -- maybe using the new 6 cylinder motor :evil

That bike from honda looks great. It could be as comfortable as could be, and probably handle okay. Yes, I want one of those Akira toys too, the first half of that movie was great.

Why buy a little 6" toy when you can buy the real thing?

Wait a Jimminy Cricket minute! That toy costs $80.00! A whole real scooter isn't worth $80!

Of course they missed the point of a scooter, which is weather protection.
I think this is a motorcycle with auto trans. Looks sharp though!!

Not to mention the rest of their "lineup"......

Hmm... kinda looks like a sportbike/cruiser hybrid than a scooter. The word "scooter" just fills visions of a Vespa.
