Yep........and maybe even a 3rd time
Great thread... but shouldn't this be in "The perfect line and other riding myths"?
My first 2-wheeler was a Honda Ruckus. I would buy it again. Super silly fun.
Current bike, Ninja 650. I would not buy it again. It's the perfect mellow commuter... too perfect, too practical.
I want more excitement, I think my next bike will be something a little looney, like a Street Triple or WR250X, nimble and naked
Not one bike I have owned did I regret having - some I wish I could buy again now. Harley is my favorite ride, but not practical now. Currently loving my KLR650.
Would you believe - Sent while riding my KLR650 in sand? Would you beloved...?
2007 KTM 950 SM ...without a doubt would buy again, and even pay more
I really like my Caponord, but my wife doesn't - she finds tall bikes disconcerting, particularly on the highway. Too many rides on a rented Road King spoiled her! So, going forward I'm looking at a 2-bike solution, a cruising tourer for 2-up, and an enduro or SM playtoy just for me.
My '06 GSXR 750, Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhh, over and over
My '09 Ktm 250sx...yep
My '09 1250s...maybe, kinda, sorta, 50/50, coin toss, who knows
You can tell from my sig.
my 1993 bmw r100gs i would not buy again and if i could go back in time i would dont buy it in the 1st place. manly becouse of the high cost of part to day and the fact it keep braking down.
the klr i got for my oz try some years ago that i rode for 6mouths so shit in so many way. i would never wont it back. i had some day that i thought about leaving the key in the bike and then just walking away. i ending up selling the bike at a big loss but i had the biggest smile on my face ahen the bike was gone.
Yep I sure would buy my DL again, every time I ride it I like it more and more and I have had it for two years now. Suits my riding style and the roads in my area perfectly.
Would not buy my xr again, great bike but would be good to have a majic little start button for when im suck half way up a hill climb. In saying that I proberly wouldnt sell it eather as it will be a clasic one day.
All my other bikes have gone for a reason and would not buy again - Harley Sportster, Yamaha FJ1200, Yamaha DT200, Honda XR200 & 100
Current steed... never again - 2006 XB12X - Great bike, horrible motor.
Wished I still had it - 2005 VTR1000F - Spent so much time & money making it my own. Many, many, many joyful miles on it.
Like to own - 2009/up Triumph Scrambler - I love riding my wifes 2010 bonneville so much that I gotta have one of my own!
yes I'll buy another one when this one finally wears out, not a new one though
I've put 15,000+ miles on my Super Tenere, and yes I would.
This is a really interesting question - it made me think a lot. I love my Wee-Strom - it's introduced me to adventure riding and a whole new world. I don't intend on ever selling it If it got totalled tomorrow would I buy another? What I want from a bike has changed a bit so I'm not sure. It's a terrific bike and I honestly don't know what I could replace it with - it would take a lot of searching.
The WR250X I'd buy again in a second - I'm always going to need one of these!! I'm currently coveting an R model so I can have the best of both worlds
The Pacific Coast I had - not on your life. I know people that have them are almost fanatical in their love for them but after 5 years I was so sick of mine. Heavy, slow, bad brakes, underpowered. When I got it I named it "Flame". That got changed to "The Big Red Slug" by the time I got the Wee
Yes on my 06 DL1000 V-Strom.
'09 DL650. I love it but would never buy the same bike twice. Dunno yet what the next one might be.
2005 R1150GSA - Absolutely
2010 F800GS - Absolutely
2011 F650GS - Not sure. Trying to talk my bride into moving up to a larger F800
2001 Confederate Hellcat/Confederado - Absolutely
2009 KLX250SM - No
1990 CR250 - Absolutely
Owned since new 04 DL1000, NO, NEVER, NADA !
I like a bike that runs on rails at 100mph and stays planted in it's lane in high winds and this ain't it.
Damned 1st Gen FJR I demoed in gale force conditions last fall, easily met the above requirements,
but was WAY TOO BUZZY through the bars, they're off the bucket list.
DR650K7, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat !
I'm on my 3rd. Probably says more about me than the bike.
Can't think of another bike I would rather have (realistically speaking).
Have owned 23 bikes in 33 years of riding all styles/types. THe Tiger is the ONLY bike I have owned more than 3 years. (going on my 5th year with her) and frankly don't expect to ever sell it.
I would ---if something happened-- purchase another in a heartbeat.
