I'll be riding bumps and stumps lapping the family farm after work tomorrow on my gasser...I am really loving that bike...

Think I'm getting ready for a quick two days at Burning Rock with my cousin in a few weeks...anybody have any suggestions? Never been, but it sounds like they have opened more single track recently and have a pretty nice moto track....

Please give us a burning rock ride report if u get a chance. I want to get down there this year and hit some singletrack on the gasgas. I have a bud that rides down there and I have watched some of his helmet cam videos, looks pretty good. It's a decent little drive plus tolls so I keep putting off going.

Let us know what you think. :evil

I was there about 7 or 8 years ago, not too long after they opened. They had some good single track then and they have more now.
Let me know when you will be there and I'll try to hook up with you.

I was there about 2 years ago and the system is a really good one and you can camp there and it's a short drive to a couple decent places to eat. Let me know if you would like a 3rd riding partner as it's been too long since I've ridden there.

Well if it's on a Sunday Jtucker and I might drag our gassers down and ride too...I need some kind of motivation to get my gasser back together, still in the middle of my alum sub frame upgrade. It's mostly done, need to fab up a battery box, swap for springs, spoon on fresh rubber and a 50t sprocket:lol3 just a little to do

Groovy, guys....I'll try to post up dates when (and if) I get them locked in....Thinking maybe Thursday 4/17 and Good Friday 4/18...but really want to go with my cousin and don't have his schedule yet......I do know Burning Rock is offering 20% discount on bookings during "Spring Break" which they have marked out as April 12 - 20, I think...

I wish I could slip away tomorrow but I just took off a week to snowboard. Planning a backpacking trip to Otter Creek this weekend but it looks like rain on Saturday. If that's the case, we'll probably head out towards Davis/Thomas on Sunday. I'll let you know if it works out that way.

I'll probably be around Davis this weekend at some point.
If it turns out to be nice today I might take the 2 smoker for a ride.

Dang if I had the dr650 legal we could go get lost one evening. My only options would be wrestle the vstrom around or haul the 400 over to work and meet ya some where. Plenty of gravel in Cabell/Mason/Jackson counties. I know a ton of roads north of Huntington off Rt2 but I havent been on them so Im not sure if they are doable on the vstrom or not since winter has been so shitty. The shitkos do NOT like red clay.

I can always send you a list of roads.

Sent you an email with a gpx and some info. Use at your own risk:lol3

Just an FYI there is a ton of good gravel over in Ohio, Crown city, back towards patriot, waterloo, etc, plenty of roads to get lost on, just watch out for Amish buggies.

Anyone thinking of riding in the Clarksburg, Grafton, Davis Metro area this weekend? Sunday looks like the best chance for me to get out.

I would have been riding today, but it rained on me every time I went outside.

It's me I don't want to get wet.
Have to work in the rain, don't like playing in it anymore.

BTW, my Superduke is probably dirtier than your bike right now :deal

There's a guy rolling through on a R1200GSA this weekend that's staying with me. I'm guessing he'd like to ride Sat. or Sun. If he's not, I'll ride without him. :D He seems to be a really competent rider, but single track is surely out. I'd be interested in riding back roads/gravel/mellow dirt anywhere from Clarksburg to Davis. It'd be nice to bring my lady along on the back and I'm no bholmes... Dude's a 2-up evil genius.

Might be. I ran through the biggest mud puddles I could find after I finished working on it so I could check for leaks later though.

We could go for a romp on some of the roads I took you thru, only slower.

That's exactly what I had in mind. I'll figure out his ETA and make sure he wants to ride. If he doesn't, I'm game for either day this weekend.
