Any headway on the dr650 market?
figured I should give some feedback. I originally posted a question in this thread about whether or not you thought a vest would fit on my 990R with the giant safari tanks.
I took a shot and ordered one, and then promptly got sent on a work trip overseas for 2 months. I got home and got to try to fit it and it while one can get the barely get straps routed around the combination, the tailoring to match the stock tanks means that it fits really poorly over the Safaris.
So if folks contact you asking, it can be strapped on, but they would likely have to do some tailoring to make it fit in a way that looks ok and isn't stretched crazily up front and all floppy and saggy farther back. I'm not sure if I'm going to take a shot at tailoring mine yet or re-sell it on fleamarket to someone with a basic setup.
The vest is very well made, I like the product a lot, wish it would have worked out, good luck with the business.
Thanks for the heads up on that Paul. If I can get a Safari to pattern, I'll do so and I'll let you know. Let me know if you decide to re-tailor it. I'd like to see the results. I appreciate the feed back and I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.
Was browsing on the net and found this comment about the Tank Vest.
"Got it in the mail today, riding tomorrow. First impressions, this thing is well built and heavy. Feels very solid. I'll be back with a trail report."
"This thing is tough. The klr took a nap at the top of a rocky hill climb. My canteen took the brunt of the fall and I've seen no damage to the molle stitches or anything. I had to drag the bike down the hill to stand it. Giving it two thumbs up for now until I manage to break it."
It's difficult to show how tough the Tank Vest is through pictures. The words of our customers do a much better job.
Hey MAte, don't suppose you found out if there was an Acerbis in the US to pattern ?? :)
Not yet. I have feelers out though. I'll find one given a bit of time.
There has been a very high demand for a Tank Vest for the V-Strom. We should have it available for sale in the next two weeks. We do have a waiting list on the V-Strom now, that list will receive the first ones. If interested, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact info, make sure you list that it's for the V-Strom and what color you'd like.
Here's a couple of teaser pics...
Nice bike... I've got one just like it
Oh wait... thats because it's mine
LOL... yep, it is isn't it? Hey what are you doing weekend of the 13th?
I work retail sales, so unless the question is asked 4 weeks in advance... I'll be working.
If things change, let me know. We have an event happening on the 13th and I think you and your bike would be a big hit.
..... thanks mate..... :)
Tank Vest swag now available!
Funny....I was on another forum (not bike related at all) and was linked to some pics of your products as maybe being of interest to me. Same mate in the US who did so is looking at your set up for attaching an M4 to the left side of the tank...

Alright if you guys see a DR with a knockoff tank vest I'm not gonna get sued am I?
Nah, as long as you made it for yourself. But, if you have a DR 400, I've finally got one to pattern. It's going in right after the ATV comes out.
Will snag one as soon as you guys make one thats DR650/IMS compatable.
I'd snag a few in each color. Hint. Sorry to keep bugging ya guys, just an awesome product.
We've located a DR650 with the factory tank and the IMS tank. pursuing that now.
