I have to do some testing and a few revisions for my next prototype, but I'll keep it in mind that people may want these.

I did have to extend the rack on the side of the X Tank. About a inch or so..
No probs with them.. I'm using a giant loop bag with the racks now. I needed a more water proof set up.

    Wow!! :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

What beautiful country (and nice farkles). It is so amazing seeing these bikes in their element. I love the pics roosting in the mud, in the snow and on the high peaks. FANTASTIC!

    Thank you for sharing them.

Hello fellow inmates! Over 360 pages! too many for me to look for what I need. Please guide me to a place where I could find the following 1) I need a front wheel for my X-Challenge. I bent mine really bad. I rather get a used one to match what I have. 2) I am thinking of setting my bike with Super Motto wheels as my second set. I don"t want to spend too much money on this set up. Please guide me, there might be something here. Thanks for your help.

Earl, glad it's working out for you so far. I loved that shock. That was my first proper suspension... can't see ever going back cheap suspension after riding on the ohlins.

Made a small tab to anchor the plastic reservoir bracket onto. Had a welder bead on the tab to the side rack. Still have the ohlins bracket for when the side racks come off. This shock released the beast the crap air bag was holding back! :norton

Update>>> Decided to pull off the HB racks when not on a camping trip due to when the bike was laid over on the left side the ground clearance was only about 1 inch. Little too close for comfort. When the racks and Wolfman bags are on the bike, the reservoir is well protected. The bracket that came with the shock is on the bike now and if needed the racks can be put back on in just a few minutes and the reservoir can be moved to the tab on the rack.

I'm seriously considering making the investment on a set of auxiliary lights and I
like the claim of direct bolt-on, no mods needed. Anyone have any experience with these lights?

Prototype of brackets were done on a friends bike. Brackets fit well, bolt on. I really like the squadron lights. I run a single squadron on two bikes as the only light. Only thing you might be concerned about is the wattage draw of two squadrons. That would be 88 watts. Added to your headlight an that is half the stator output. Two of the SI units would be the same as one squadron. Still plenty of light and half the load.

Does anyone have pics of the squadron lights mounted? Either with/without their brackets. Pricey little suckers..FYI, a standard 2 1/8" hole saw for a door lock = 54mm for those who want to make brackets for fork tubes

I did some research and am confused as to the actual wattage output of the x-challenge. Different spec sheets list it differently. I've seen either 280w or 400w. Is there a stator upgrade available without sending in a stock unit for a rewind?

Near as I could find, the X is 280 watt. The F650GS rotax was 400 watt due to a larger stator. Supposedly the GS stator is to wide to fit under the X side cover. I have a spare GS motor but have not tried to retrofit the GS stator to my X.

400 watts in the X would be awesome.

Thank you for the clarification. Might be worth my time to stop by Ricky Stator and ask a few questions since they're 2 blocks down the street from me.

Be sure and post us back on what you find out about a higher wattage option for the Xbikes. There are a few Stators on ebay that promise a 20% increase over stock, but who really knows without spending the time and money to really see.
    thanks
