It sure did its job...so did the TT one on the other side...

Well I was in 1st gear...pretty high revs...and riding up this somewhat nasty track...I was reving it enough and bouncing up and down to pop my chain off (not sure if that's a relevant point of reference...this is only my second season...):

    Just wanted to thank everyone...!

All of the sets from the original batch are gone or are spoken for.

I hope you are all putting them to good use!!!

Batch (2) will be going on order shortly so I can keep a few more on hand.

The Kutch guards work great. I rode about 20 miles of Pachaug State Park, Sunday morning. It is in the same area DiscoDino was riding in. I'm still not sure how this happened. I hit a 3" diameter tree branch with my head earlier in the day. I had just came out of two large, and deep mud holes and popped on to dry loom and strait on to this rock.

I'll post a pic when I get one but I just thought I would let you all know that the left side hard part not only works but it has convincingly saved my bike!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's just suffice it to say that the metal used IS bendable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was climbing a boulder field, the bike stepped right off a rock face and fell in to a deep hole with the rear tire. BANG!!!!! Climb up out of the hole after a bit of work and find a nice bend in the left side hard part! No other damage whatsoever!!!!!!!

Kutch, I'm gonna need a new left side hard part!!!!

Now, the water pump cover I sheared off about 1/4 mile up the road after this . . . . that's another story!!!! It does involve a boulder field though! Guess I need to give TT about $250 to fix that problem!!! Good news is that $63 is all it costs for a new water pump cover, gasket, and hose. Bad news is that there are none in the US and 58 of them in Germany!

Just shoot me a check for shipping and its yours...
Thats for proving out the parts!!!!

    Nothing like "destructive testing"

You still got my addy right?:D

I've STILL got a hold up in the machine shop for future orders...:huh:cry Sorry guys...Anyone who has sent a check...They are sitting right in front of me, unopened - reminding me of the hold up...

Count me in for two full sets. That's one set for me and one for my buddy cvestal.

I PM'd you a while back; you replied that I should hold on to my money until you had round two ready to ship. So I haven't sent a check yet. Just wanted to be sure I was officially in the queue for whenever they become available again.

Regards, and thanks for making these available.

    Everyone....

I just wanted to touch base with everyone who has been asking for these parts...

    See....I got this new "J.O.B"....
And honestly its been sucking me dry with hours.
Any extras....? Right,....I've been hard pressed to fit anything in.

I"ve been in contact with another member here on line that may be interested in picking this up for me for the time being....

I'm still waiting to see if this will work out.
As soon as I have an ADVmember set up to do this for the 650X community I'll post up where to send your requests.

sorry sorry Sorry for the delay.!

But I've got to dig in with the new place for awhile...

Is anyone supplying these hard parts now? Haven't seen any updates and needed some protection.

Touratech sells a hard part for the right side, to protect the side stand mount and lower frame, but Kutch went a step ahead and made one for the left side too.

    To all.

I just want to say thanks again for all the requests for the parts. I would have never thought that there would be such a demand...

I also have to apologize for not being able to fill the demand due to being constantly on the go with the new job.

So what I'm going to do...
MTDewX8 was the last to request a set.
In the sorry response I gave to him I stated that I've tried unsuccessfully to find someone to pick up where I've left off and provide for the community.

He stated that he might be able to get someone with the equipment to do it....

All of a sudden it hit me...:thwak
Forget making them and selling and shipping etc....

Just design the stuff and send the program out to anyone that wants it.

    :ricky:beer

You find a local shop to cut them out.

So to anyone that wants the layout for the guards, ask.

    Its now open source time...

If you like that - and it saves you some $$...Contribute to this site.
(Its helped me in the past...!)

My Guard Designs are now open to the community.
Enjoy and contribute to the site.

    Thanks Kutch,

I'd love to have the file. I am picking up a new challenge next week and would love to get these parts. I can find someone here in town to cut them so the file would be awesome.
