I'll regret this, but here it is: I want an X-type Jaguar with manual transmission, maybe a 2004 - 2005, with low miles and sport package.

There, I said it. I know it's crazy. My sons think I'm out of my mind. Say something - anything - before I go insane and buy one. Talk me out of it. Please.

^ There is a wagon? I love wagons and need one, but it has to be used, cheap and dependable.

I have a friend who has an X type wagon, and he thinks it's a pretty good car. You can get them used and cheap (who wants an X-type?) if you look for them.

Dependable? Well, I guess if a ford contour or taurus is dependable, maybe an X type is?

Nah, it's the crazy putting words in my mouth again...:eek1

My dad had one. Always wanted to say he owned a Jaguar.

What a piece of shit that thing was. Worst car he'd ever owned. Stay away.

Now is about the time when someone should chime in going against the grain saying how they owned one and it was a great car. It won't be me.:D My sister owned one and couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

    Awesome car.

As long as the "X" is followed by "K-120", "K-140" or "K-150".

I actually think they are a good buy. Basically a ford mondeo with much better interior, cylinder heads and much worse resale value (good if you are buying one now as they are dirt cheap). Seem a bit dull, not a "real" jag, but a good value for a mid-size sedan. I'd certainly have one over a camery or something. They are AWD and mpg isn't the greatest.
