Unless I'm going very far or hauling a lot, I leave them off. I figure the more they're on, the better the chance they'll just get sloppy and loose. But I almost always have stuff in the top trunk.

The cases are pretty good air brakes too, the bike gets going a lot better without them.

Is that your lodge? Looks pretty cool. Was it always a lodge building? Around here, most of the lodges now have crappy metal buildings. Our old one was in one of the few 1800's buildings left in town, but now is just in a 90's-built, converted boot store.

That's the lodge in Ector, the town just east of where I live. I belong to Bells lodge but I'll visit this one sometimes.

I don't know if this building has always been the lodge, but one of the members told me that they used to hold lodge upstairs, but it's in need of repairs so they moved it downstairs.

Eh, just ride. I took mine from Phoenix to Fl and back in May, Then a trip from Phx up through Idaho, across Co, up Pike's Peak, back across Co, and home to Phx again in July. I'm pushing 30k (20k of that this year), and I'll just keep riding it every day, flogging the hell out of it, and I bet it'll live forever. I'd take it to Alaska tomorrow if I could get the time away from work and school. If I blow it up, I'll rebuild it in my dining room.

D616's someone asked? I got y last one fro chaparral motorsports (or something like that) on ebay. 145 for a rear. I'll go to them again next month for a front and rear. I like the 616's, and I don't specifically know of any other tire with better treadlife, although I'm open to suggestions. The 616's are louder than the Toyos on my truck when they are worn like they re now though.

Yeah, that was me. Ended up going with a pair of Pirelli Diablos sourced in Canada after doing a bit of comparison shopping.

Loved the Dunlop 616's, especially in the rain, but checking my records I realised the rear only lasted 5k kms (3k miles)! :huh The front lasted through two rears but was pretty much shot and steering like a truck by the time the second rear was used up.

The Pirellis are a marvel of ride quality and steering response compared to the well-worn Dunlops (which stuck like glue, by the way).
