I 'm working on the new costs of the fairing.

Proto is off at the fiberglass guy getting final prep and the mold made.

Making a short production run of 4 units. color to be honda red.

I'll post when done with price for all that are interested.

of course Jim is getting his asap..

I'm on the list for a Trail Tech Eclipse but if you get yours out of the shop and you let us know pricing soon I may cancel it. I really like the look of yours and I'm sure it will offer more wind protection.

Ken, I PM'd you before but haven't heard back yet, are you supplying the KTM lights with yours or do we need to source those separately?

    Thanks much...Scott

the KTM light is sold separate... plenty of places on the net to get the euro unit from around $168-$200...

Pricing all depends on how much the my fiberglass guy charges for the production mold.. I would not expect the price of the fairing parts to be more than $350. the light and mounting hardware will be extra.

In all ... I'd budget about $700 to $950 for the fairing installed.. In comparison... I have over $2500 in R&D in this project with my time and materials...

Ken, thanks for the response. Any chance you have a picture of your prototype installed on a bike yet? :evil

Let me see if I can rustle someone close to you up on the Chain Gang.

I'm guessing this would need to be a whole cockpit replacement. The stock unit just rattles around off road in a most disconcerting manner.

I would be interested in this product for the F650GS also! Unfortunately, not near you to offer my bike as a demo...

If you get one mocked up, send me a pm...

check the vendors forum.. were in production mode of my second design of rally fairings for the xr650r

Molds were made up this week. should have the first fairings finished by friday.

    I'll have pictures up then.

Here was the first design.. pretty low profile

decided to do a taller unit and incorporate the ktm 990 headlight

Here's the picture of the front mask proto

Looking good Ken. Does the shape of the fairing match the contour of the 990 headlights?

Yep .. It's hard to see on the proto.... but I filled and shaped the headlight area to transission almost seamlessly to the headlight. took some work..

the first ones should be done on Friday..If they are done.. I should have time to mount on the bike and take pictures..

then i have to package that unit up to ship it to Jim.. as he's been waiting six months for me to complete this project.... Stupid work keeps getting in the way of my hobby....

When are you taking orders for the 990 headlight fairing? just what im after for my XR.
Please add me to the list for a tall fairing, with or without the 990 headlight unit or i can obtain myself.

Instead of getting an eclipse or baja designs race light i'll just wait for you to finish a fairing.

    Cheers!

    Hey Kenaroo,

Very nice work on the fairing design. Perhaps you should showcase it at the Chabochis-Hairy Face Rally...

I just secured a 08 450 exc for a mock up on the 6.3 gallon acerbis tank

You can get this tank from Just Gas Tanks http://www.justgastanks.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_17_287&products_id=948

It will be a few months because I have to finish up the current XR mask.

as I have been teasing Jim that I'd have it ready for him already.. I need to get it done.. just working out a few bugs on the front mask.
