The stock tires totally suck in mud. Go too fast and the front end washes out go too slow and gets stuck. What tire do you guys recommend for those conditions, I also ride on the streets and would like to get some mileage out of the tire. I also was wondering if you guys keep the front sprocket cover on cause mine is totally stuffed with mud or dirt on my trail rides.

I run d606 on my XRL. I have about 3 k on them and still look good. Only adjustment made I'd changing air pressure depending on riding surface. 20 on street 10-12 on sand and mud.
Go ahead and have them put rim locks on while changing tires. It will save the tubes and don't skimp on the tubes get the heaviest you can. Screw in stems are a must or else you are getting cruser bike tubes.

How about the sprocket cover? Mine continously fills with dirt when off roading.

I run a XR's Only sprocket cover on mine, 606 Dunlops also work well.

That sprocket cover is also a case saver. I wouldn't recommend you run with out it, or an aftermarket substitute. If you do you risk breaking your case if you loose a chain.
