Ok, by charging current I thought you meant the current going into the battery.
I have verying levels of education and experience too, and there have been some things occur with my electrical that I just cannot explain, an so I have a tendency to keep everything seperate, nothing shares anything.
I noticed during my rewire recently that the ac feeding the headlight had an uncrimped butt connector on one leg. No issues over three years of use. There are definite benefits to ac.
the EU model has DC power rectifier/capacitor...no battery.
I was wondering if anyone has coughed up the dough for one of the baja designs squadron and put it on there pig? . I have a stock stator and am currently running the stock headlight with led blinkers and an led brake running light. And I dont plan on running any other extras in the future. Im really interested in the squadron cause my thing is that it supposedly only uses 44 watts and I wont have to get the upgraded stator. Just get a reg/rec from baja designs, which I have one laying around the garage somewhere. I called up BD and they said that the squadron wont run on the stock AC current and thats why I need the reg/rec to convert it to DC? Then by having a DC setup would I have to run a battery too? Thanks to anyone trying to help a retard when it comes to electricity.

Bike came to me with a BD dual sport kit and I assumed it would be a plug and play but no such luck.
The good news is the light can be shipped back and repaired for $75 but noe I need to fix the issue and get D/C to the headlight.
How do I do this on my XR?????
I can follow directions and turn wrenches pretty well but electricity on a bike is another story.

Does someone have the ED/DK XR 650R wiring diagram with go quality?
The ones in the service manual are generalized diagrams, as they are all about the same for honda bikes of that genre.
Ok, but I don't have service manual in paper and the digital copy of the diagram have no quality.
I know, its really hard to make out the color codes.
So my point was that any honda dirt MC wire diagram will likely answer your questions.
Green is ground (AC)
black/white is engine kill (short to ground to kill)
black/red is to your ign coil.
It all appears to be the same.

part circled 4 pin mini connector, that looks like it's from a non US wiring diagram (ours is AC only). If it is from a non-us bike and those are the DC outputs from the VR/Reg that should work fine.
That's correct, it's non US bike.
I read that as a 4 wire connector as well.
If you look in the english service manual it shows diagrams using other languages as well. And it is generic and not specific to the xrr, which is why they show both dc and ac systems, turn signals, horn, etc, that was never a factory option. A factory bike will NOT have a R/R.
Your diagram will work. However, is that power to your GPS going through any sort of voltage regulator? Or does your GPS work on 12V dc?
One thing I would be careful of is that the power out of a reg/rect is not very clean (why they use a capacitor and call it a condensor), especially if there is no battery in the circuit, and it can raise hell with electronics, including HID lights. So you will want to clean the power up using capacitors, coils, batteries, loads, anything to keep the voltage from spiking.
No voltage regulator except the rect/reg device in the image. I believe it does some kind of voltage regulation.
Yep, GPS (Garmin 60csx) accept AC or DC power 12V.

It appears that you are using a Honda OEM R/R?
With the bike running and nothing using power, check the voltage across the capacitor. It shouldn't go above 14v dc.
I have found that with the Tymphanium R/R sold by Ricky Stator, it will charge a capacitor to over 17vdc unless there is a battery in the circuit. With no capacitor, load, or battery the output of the R/R is all over the place and acts like it isn't even functional. If you plug in sensitive electronics with this condition, it is likely to kill them. I think this is why the Trailtech units have the blue wire; to keep it from over charging.

Incandescent front turns and led rear turn signals.
By my calculations this should work just fine on my all AC system. I broke the incandescent rears off and I'm trying to shave some watts using the stock stator. My 55 watt headlight dims a lot with the use of the turn signals. I also have the wheeling cycle supply led inner brake tail light.
