Can you guys please tell me if your front master cylinder looks like this, or is this off another bike? The reservoir cap is for the XR650R but is totally different and Google throws up both types?

    Cheers

Looks the same as what I've got here mate.

Mine have got "1/2" cast in the front also.

You'll need the cap with the holes in centre.

Interesting, I never knew the US spec BRP had a different reservoir, it would appear theirs has the type that the cap fits.

I think mine has the holes in the corner like the cap but won't be able to verify until I'm at home tonight.

Thanks Slickwill, if so I may need to source a US spec one and then get a banjo bolt brake light switch to make it work with the electrics on the Aussie model.

I just checked. Mine does have the holes in the corners. US spec are 11mm bores. That may be a bit smaller than yours if yours is marked 1/2. I'd assume that means 1/2"? That'd be 12.7ish mm.

I have a spare. I've never used it but it appears to be in good condition. $20 plus shipping? Though I'd like to keep the (bent) lever that's on it as a crash spare.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Works Connection have identified the Euro/Australian spec bikes have the reservoir from a XR650L, which is a popular mod by Super Motard guys apparently. It is as much about the feel than it is the power they reckon. It does however lack the reach adjustment screw that the US spec bikes have.

I had a pic of a BRP subframe kit with fuel tanks,
the stock sub frame was removed and a new complete rear made for the bike
    with a intergrated fuel tank.
Looked trick, it cost around 4,000 Euro

I think it was made by Monier.

At 3750gbp ($5690) I would buy that BRP in a second if it were in Australia

Some rough together pics, still got plenty to do, cutting to length, holes, welding etc, but we got the bends sorted and made some foward progress.
