    Hi rrittner,

I really like the headlight, more compact/lighter. The light seems brighter than than stock but not sure. The TrailTech site claims that the light is 2x stronger than stock, but I don't know...

    Cheers,

    Cumbacheech

    Two questions for the asylum.

1st I am going to be rejetting my carb (getting all the stuff necessary for Dave's mods), is there a difference in whose jets I chose? JD Jetting, etc?

2nd. I managed to rip off the plate. The fix job I did, did not hold at speed/vibes, so I need to find a different tail light configuration. I hate the entire L tail light, can I use a Baja XRR type of light? Any other choices for tail lights. I am open to suggestions.

A little too much of this

That's wonderful! You will certainly enjoy your Shorai battery, CC. :D Please do let me know when you begin your battery relocation. :nod Did you order the fuse box cover?

I'm pleased to report my Shorai battery relocation has worked superbly from the very beginning, and has never caused me any problems whatsoever. :deal My bike handles great since I removed the 10+ pounds of the battery suitcase from the bikes' subframe. :nod

Welcome to the motorcycle fraternity, and welcome to the ADVRider asylum, fellow inmate! :D Your bike appears to be in great condition. You will enjoy owning the XR650L. :nod

If I may, I will offer you two suggestions. First of all, If you haven't already done so, I strongly encourage you to take a motorcycle rider safety course, such as the MSF course. :nod

    http://nm.msf-usa.org/msf/ridercourses.aspx

The physical skills, and the mental strategies taught in this course will help protect you from serious injury, and might even save your life. :deal

Secondly, I suggest you examine your bike's countershaft, and countershaft sprocket. If you see even a hint of rust on either part, your countershaft splines are beginning to wear. :huh

I don't know if there is a difference, but the Pro X jets I got from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC work great for me! :nod

I know! :rofl I will mount another CST, Surge I, front tire; I like this front tire a lot. :nod I will next try a Pirelli, MT21 rear tire. However, I'm pretty sure I am going to revert back to my current, Dunlop, D952 rear tire after the MT21 wears out. :deal I really like the performance, and the price, of the Dunlop, D952 tire. :D
