Have you completely desmogged/derestricted/opened up the breathing/uni filter/rejetted/drilled the slide and dumped the super restrictive exhaust for a straight through unit? Mine has all the above mods and is super snappy....almost too much sometimes. Ultra quick throttle response. Plus it has unbelievable torque, impossible to lug it down too much, and still catches revs very quick......and thats with stock gearing. More power than I can safely use in the dirt Its the best big thumper engine I've ever ridden for my style of off-roading....with some suspension revalving and other mods I love this bike. I've taken it in some very gnarly places and it just eats it up A modded xrl feels twice as strong as a stock street strangled one imo. Be sure your xrl is performing to its full potential before you swap the motor out And be sure its tuned good/valves adjusted etc.
