and say "what the fooook!!!,,there's the object of so many's desires and many a sleepless night getting reick wheels built for all of you,,,and now it'll be some lucky souls good fortune to snag this lovingly assembled ,,highly tailored for serious Adventure tiding bike,,,

i had decided to snag a super tenere here in the states [almost had one snagged last may,,,,] for show and tell purposes at the various adv rallies sprouting up across the USA...that's how i stunbled upon this fabulous example,,,
now i'll have to check in with the Wasp man and check on wassup???

All good here mate, as per our talk tonight.. PS - Good to catch up again after no skype sessions for so long:clap

WOW - A couple of months off the scene and everyone is talking about my demise:cry

Honestly, I havent checked these pages for quite some time now and, while talking with Woodie on the Skype machine tonight, was surprised to have him mention that he heard the WASPmobile was for sale. He mentioned that it came up in this thread so I thought it best I check in and post.

Its true, the bike is for sale but not in the form advertized.
I have sold off all of the accessories (except the Wheels and Ohlins rear) to one buyer, and I will be selling the standard bike + rear boxes to maximize value: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/chidlow/motorcycles/xt1200z-yamaha-super-tenere/1019714963

The silver 18" rear and 21" front wheel set (you cannot buy better than these Woodies Wheel Works specials) are to be sold seperately: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/chid...nt-wheel-and-18-rear-wheel-package/1019720094

The Ohlins rear shock will be sold seperately as well: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/chid...tenere-ohlins-shock-absorber-only-/1019719250

As much as I will miss this bike and hate to see it go, I have more pressing things/projects that I would like to clear up space and funds for.

I may have leaked a little peak of what we (myself+Woodie+Graham) are up too.
For those that may have missed it:

I still have the rest of the frame work to finish in the 3D model before I can start fabricating but the guts of it is, these will be available in complete kit form with all the parts purchased from us. The engine will be Harley Sportster 883/1200 from donor/salvage.

We are keeping this under our hats at the moment but will keep our good friends here advized and updated as the build progresses.

THIS is why im clearing the decks...:freaky

    :rofl

Good luck Greg. So those Harley accessories are expensive hey?...

Dang! That looks like an ol' board tracker!!! :eek1

    I *LIKE* it!!! :clap

Will it be possible to ship 'em to the USA without it being too expensive? Just so happens I know where there's a lovely *donor* Sportster!!!

BTW, I'm in Austin, TX this weekend at the "Circuit of the Americas" race track where they're running Aussie V8 Supercar races Saturday & Sunday (along with Pirelli Touring Cup Challenge events and Porsche GT3 Cup). The Aussie V8's look to be *GREAT* series, and I hope they find a permanent home for a date on their calendar from now on! :D

Good Luck on the new venture, Greg!!!

I really like that concept when you sent me that pic. 6 months ago. Looking very good. If your selling off all S10 parts send me that prototype high fender bracket and dual front brake line kit. PLEASE! My Woodies 21" needs it.

I believe he is no longer making parts for the Super Tenere. Unless you find a used one you are SOL.

If anyone has one of Greg's heated grip controller brackets they no longer require, I would be very interested in taking it off your hands in exchange for some international beer tokens *. :D

Greg, I found you thread on this Tenere build and was intrigued. I have to admit I haven't read the entire thread but I recently bought a 2013 S10 and would like an option for highway pegs in a forward position for relief on long highway rides. Is that the factory engine guards? Did you fab anything that will allow fwd pegs to rest/stretch legs on a hwy run?
    Thanks,
    David

those bars look pretty but im glad i dont have them on my bike. they wouldnt have made it thru either of my crashes.... i suppose the cases might have been protected but the bike would certainly have been totaled both times.

Just talked with Greg from Wasp Works the other day,,he's alive n well and unfortunately had to give up his Super Tenere and the time /energy put into the Wasp Works....and get a regular job.So he's driving a truck on a regular route...sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do..

We had big dreams the two of us...but what is the sound of one hand clapping asked the Zen master:wink:

FYI #1,,,Just got finished delivering several 21/17 and 21/18 Superlite/Superlaced wheelsets to Jim Hyde;s Rawhyyde Adventure ride down the Baja...15 journalists went along for a show n tell week...you'll be reading their reports in a variety of rags.

FYI #2,,,there's several sets of new/like new wheels sitting in Australia.

FYI #3,,,any of ya need advice regarding what works in the rolling department ask here: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145899

and congrats on your new ride,,,they are a hoot!!,,am looking for one for my show n tell stable...
