I guess I'm only 8 years too late.
You might not have missed anything :) the consensus is: a y-pipe is more fashion than performance, since even a well made one isnt quite as good as a stock collector. I'd like to go back to a collector, even if they are a bit heavier. The collectirs are heavier, arent they?
Apparently, these are still available.
I have a Khein collector for my G/S...not installed (still waiting for mine to rust out). One of these days it will get put on. Got it from Motobins some time ago. Better buying from them than stateside.
