Had a Yamaha T Max 500 for the day, i borrowed it from a friend. What a scooter i absolutely loved it, could not believe the performance and handling. Zipped up to 100mph, and cruising at 80 to 90mph, really tempted now

Yea, power and handling is pretty good on the tmax. Although I find my wife's burgman 400 more comfortable and ride that more often. When she buys a NM4, I may keep the burgman and sell the tmax.

Yes the Tmax is a great scooter. I had a 2009 yellow one. The only thing for me was that the handle bar was too far and low. But in terms of handling, speed, and overall performance, wow! Like you said.

I just bought a 2009 yellow T-max to compliment my Burgman 650 and DL 1000 VStrom. I read everything I could for over two months about the T-max and finally found one. The previous owner had installed a tall windscreen and a Corbin seat. I have added a Givi tail box, and will install wind deflectors this week. I think it will do great on my local mountain rides and around town. Yamaha is crazy for not importing them to the US. Love it!

Yes, the Tmax is a very impressive machine. I have a yellow 2009. I sold all my motorcycles after getting it. My friends on Ducatis and BMWs are amazed at what the Tmax can do in the twisties. A sportier handling scooter does not exist.

I love my 2009 but I would trade it for a second for a new 530 TMAX. More power, lower weight, better styling. I'll hit the Yamaha dealer the second they announce it coming here.

edit: This post made me go look at the Canadian Yamaha site to look at the 530. I'm not buying that color, I don't care how awesome it is. Looks like dog shite brown. It had better look a hell of a lot better in person.

That is a very unflattering color scheme.

Need to ride a Tmax though.

Fitting a turbo seems to yield some extra velocity options :D

This thread actually helped me decide to keep my T-Max a little longer  .

Last year I was pushing it up my driveway and stupidly lost balance and it fell over on the right side. :cry . I left it in my garage and didn't ride it for awhile and actually advertised it here on the Flea Market for sale for cheap (I had since picked up a 2010 SYM HD200).

But I finally took it out again last weekend and enjoyed my ride. Handles great, plenty of power. Yeah, I wish the handlebar was a little higher (I wonder if I could install some bar risers).

I absolutely love mine. May not be as comfortable as a Burgman, but it does everything i need a bike to do. There is one in Indy on Craigslist that a friend of mine used to own, they are asking 5400 for it.

I have enjoyed my Tmax 500. Purchased it used with 360 miles on it, now 9000 miles. Fantastic power, handling, comfort.

I have added the rizoma handlbar kit, Yoshi Full System carbon exhaust. EBC front rotors, Euro turn signal conversion, heated grips, MRA touring screen, color matched rear case and alloy carrier from Canada.

I can't say enough good things about my Tmax 500. I found mine with only 1,200 miles and a bunch of farkles already installed. I've got a big Givi screen to put on it, but the Yamaha sport screen looks so good, I keep putting off installing it. Maybe when I take it back to Big Bend...
