    Relocation nearly complete.

    Hello friends,

soon I will resume my usual muddy presence in this wonderful forum.
My relocation to a place closer to work was successful and I could cut my commute by half.
The Dicke and ye olde XT are still in Sprockhövel, but i will collect them soon. I had no internet for the last few weeks, and too much to do to post from work
But now I live right in the middle of the curves in one of Germany's nicest motorbike regions.
My new place can provide shelter for man and bike as well, so if travellers pass through I can offer a place to sleep, eat and wrench.

    More to come.

    Glückauf

I put the factory pro in my 92 (only 7000 miles and originals were shot) but could not get them to work regardless of needle settings or float settings or jets, she would start fine on choke but as soon as it was warmed up that was it unless opened throttle to get revs about 4000, same on every setting I had put needles etc. I have put the electric fuel pump mod on, that works great. I have put old tubes back in and have ordered stock tubes from dealer. Factory pro can't figure out why they aren't working.

Looks like actual civilization, as opposed to the roadside crap we see here in the US! :flush How do you people survive without fastfooled hog troughs at every intersection? And where are the mega conveeeenience store/gas stations blighting your landscape?

    Wish I were there...

    Don

    Hi Hladek

Those pictures are absolutely great, you are obviously quite professional with the camera, what camera are you using?
I notice you were also doing a bit of light trail work which together with what looks like super weather must have made a great riding holiday. :clap

Well, I have finally gone and done it, I have ordered 2 Avon Distanzia's, the 110/80-18 will be mounted backwards on the front! :eek1
It has taken me quite some time to come around to this way of thinking.
I would just keep on searching, hoping something more approriate would pop up... mixing speed ratings, bias & radial, tubes & tubeless, backs on the front, different brands... it has all had my head spinning. :huh So I just did it.:norton

I will post report when I get them both mounted and rolling....

    G'day TDMers,
I've just put a deposit on an '98 850 ex Jim at Freshwater (Harbord) in Sydney. :clap
I just couldn't stand being bike-less for so long (since I wrote of Betty Blue, the k6 Wee Strom in March).
Any chance of a hard knobbie tyre that'll fit the front??
(Don't wanna braek a leg on way into TTT Rally again).

    hello...

Has anyone changed the original suspension setup for the bike? The manual says that the suspension can be changed for it to be a little softer. I this the ride on this bike is a little harshor rough terrain, speccially when you compare it to a gs1200.

    any thoughts?
