    Some luck, you make. :nod

Spies wanted the bike set up really hard, apparently harder than the Yamaha wanted to be set - broken shock mount as a result. So you can interpret that as the bike not being adapted to him, or vice versa.

There were enough mistakes to go around, so lets just say it wasn't a good match and move on. Quitting via Twitter was unprofessional, no matter what the executive had to say. Hopefully, he will enjoy the Ducati family.

Riiiiiight. Rossi had better hand back the 09 title then, given Stoner missed so many races through illness. Oh, and while we're at it, Rainey can give up his 92 title because Doohan was out injured after leading the championship race by a mile...:deal:evil:rofl

His settings also made his engine expire in Indianapolis... way too much preload up front, couldn't take it :lol3

Lets be realistic, at minimum Rossi is going to have his hands full with Lorenzo, Pedro and others. They've were a challenge a couple years ago and they've only matured in their riding since then. Mean while, we can't say just how fast Rossi still is.

Could make for some great racing next year... but I doubt Rossi will just stomp everyone. :deal

There might be some truth to that. I remember reading something about him running an unusually stiff swingarm in AMA and SBK because that's what he liked. Laguna is probably the most punishing track on suspension throughout the year but its hard to imagine there wasn't some sort of defect.

yep, it's not like there in the business of making the shock mount needlessly strong and therefore heavy. I'm sure some FEA was conducted and determined the minimum amount of material to handle the loads they planned on seeing.

And it's not unheard of for pro's to find weak points. My understand is Taddy bends shock mounting bolts on the KTM on a regular basis.

Hey guys did you hear Rossi is going back to Yamaha? He's SO old, there's no way he can win a race ever again forever.

At Valencia, Tsuji (Yamaha tech boss) said it was a bolt that stripped. QA issue. At Indy, his bike dropped a valve from overheating, and after that, they altered the fueling to inject more fuel at certain important points to help cool the valves.

Turkeys voting for Christmas. Though to be honest, there's only a couple of tracks (Motegi, Misano, Brno) where fuel is an issue.

Just counted 30 times. Without counting injuries, 29.

Lorenzo beat Rossi 22 times. Without injuries 18 times. Consider that 9 (half) of the times Lorenzo beat Rossi were AFTER his injury.

Pre Rossi injury stats would then be Rossi 27 vs. Lorenzo 9.

    Thanks wikipedia.

I'd say that injury really did a number on Rossi, it'll be interesting to see if he's on form like he was before the injury for 2013.

*after counting twice, I still haven't been able to account for the 53'rd race between those three seasons. I won't bother again, but you get the picture.
