Do you think that maybe MM is pushing harder than the other riders? Hes hauling ass and will be a force no doub,t but maybe the other riders (lorenzo, valentino, and dani) are focused more on testing the bikes characteristics? I could be wrong just figured id throw the idea out there.

That's just what I was thinking, come back and race in America and quit beating that Ducati like a dead horse.
Im sure they pay him well to run mid pack but dang its got to be dis-heartening for a racer like him.
Im sure he could get a good WSB ride.

I've seen him do laps at Indy Mile and 'twas awesome, but I cant see him driving a Chevy van around the Midwest for 1000$ purses and the 500$ Dash for Cash quite yet.
But yeah I get it; it's gotta be tough. Like Groundhog Day kinda. Waking up every day knowing the same result is inevitable no matter how much you go for it.
I'd love to see him fighting at the front. He's better than the bike he's on.

He was rumored for a Ducati SBK ride and turned it down like CE it's hard to go down a class.

Maybe NH and BS on a couple of 1199 Panigales in WSBK?

Would get my attention more than them being field fillers in MotoGP. Racing for a maybe top 10 isn't gonna' be fun....

The frameless 1199 is still a big unknown at the WSB level. Maybe it will do the job , maybe not. At least this year we'll get to see it in at the sharp end.
Hope Nickey's big heart will stick around for the next generation Moto GP Duck.

I actually thought Stoner got into the '59s on his 2nd lap at last years test.... could
Be wrong, but don't think so.

Looks like Spies isn't riding today due to shoulder pain.

Marquez just took his first Moto GP spill in the final turn.

Those guys would be riding for comparative peanuts in WSBK. They'd be lucky to make a couple hundred thousand vs a million or two.

Not that any of them need the money. I think I read recently that Nicky's net worth if $14 million. Not quite Rossi money, but enough to get by.

Spies probably made as much or more in his AMA days.

I'm thinking of how Lorenzo's enthusiasm was realigned in his first year... They walk on water for a while, and then physics elbows its way in to the conversation.

I don't think Marquez's crash was much of a big deal. They all crash at some point.

Proof the Duc won't turn. That is intermediate class track day lean angle right there. :eek1

Could be true. But Lorenzo was launched to the orbit 4-5 years ago, and from an 800cc machine using tyres, that are probably quite different from what they ride today.

Well, come to think of it, a massive highside actually happened to Stoner at Indy last year.... one would think that MM, being a rookie, will be more vulnerable to such incidents.

Marquez and Lorenzo are still out there reeling off consistent 2:01 laps.

It is one thing to throw in a fast flyer. It is something else to reel off strings of fast laps.

Pedrosa packed up already. Proved his point.

    ..with a 2.00.100! :huh

And is that the absolute fastest ever lap around Sepang (unless somebody still manages to top that today)?
