Worked fine for me. The implication that Rossi could displace Poncharal as owner of the blue satellite team is interesting, compelling even. Amazing if he has come to accumulate that much clout in the sport. Tech3 has been very good for Yamaha and vice versa.

No way. Poncharal is loyal and talented. Rossi it's the unknown on that equation

Me thinks team ownership is different from team management. Rossi would probably go owner rather than direct manager?

I'm sure Dorna have done the focus groups to determine the extent to which fan loyalty will transfer from Rossi to lesser riders racing on a team owned or managed by Rossi. Quick...without Googling...name all the guys who rode for Agostini.

Eddie Lawson is the first one that pops to my mine. I want to say Freddie Spencer tried to make a return under the Ago run Yamaha team.

I remember Team Roberts poached Ago's Marlboro sponsorship, and that pretty much ended Ago's team.

You have absolutely no idea as to what Smiths input has been into this project.KTM obviously value his input even if you do not.

i suppose the easy way is for tech 3 to be VR46 .Can stay the same mostly but with a change in the main sponsor and some paint jobs

Yep - short of VR getting Lin Jarvis's job, VR46/Tech 3 would be the way to go....of course Herve may have something to say about that..... :D

All speculation. Has Rossi even voiced a preference for his next adventure? Taking a hands-on position is not without risk. There is little certainty that being a good rider translates into being a good owner or manager. Why not retire a demi-god and call it victory? Goodwill ambassador for life.

Ferchristssake! Rossi is already been successful as a Moto3 and Moto2 team owner and has shown an extremely keen eye for selecting and developing talent through his VR46 Academy. He has a number of other successful enterprises including merchandising for many of the top racers. There is little doubt he would be a successful team owner in the premier class at whatever level of participation he chooses.

Ten of the twenty-four riders on the MotoGP grid are Spanish.

    Something's fishy here. Just sayin'.

Well they were not gonna give Smith the boot, only put him on testing duties, where Kallio is now, and where Smith could still contribute a whole lot to their project.
