Everyone stays where they are until the end of the season. But as I wrote back in February, Lorenzo will move to Suzuki for 2019. Bike will suit him much better than the Ducati, the GSX-RR is all about corner speed. Lorenzo and Rins together would be good, Lorenzo can help drive Rins to greatness.

Iannone to Aprilia, most likely. He is not well liked in Suzuki.

Incidentally, I fear that if Zarco were to go to Repsol, he may suffer similar problems to Lorenzo at Ducati. The Honda is the polar opposite of the Yamaha.

I'm not sure most riders give a shit about the team.
I remember Doohan bleating about Criville pinching his set up.

If Jorge doesn't win at least a couple races this year his switch to Ducati will go down in the history books as the unmitigated disaster that so many Lorenzo haters were gleefully praying for.

Zarco will stay at Yamaha for the exact reason you mention.

Iannone will be Tito Rabat's official umbrella girl wrangler by 2020.

Zarco will probably sign for KTM. Never underestimate the draw of a factory team

True but I was imagining a Cal Crutchlow type situation, doesn't he essentially have a factory bike now? Aside from the hardware is Cal getting "full factory treatment" now?

So who signs with Repsol Honda? Do they resign Pedrosa because he does a decent job of “carrying the water” for Marquez? Do they bring in Crutchlow and hope he doesn’t irritate Marquez? I can’t see Dovi leaving Ducati at this point. Maybe if Bradl rides well he will be in the mix, doubtful but his ride at Cota will be interesting.

The hardware is the difference. This year Cal gets the current factory bike and gets upgrades along the way.
While Tech3 has been with Yamaha they always got last year's bikes and they were stagnant and got no improvements during the season.

I wonder if Yamaha would make the same type of deal with Zarco in an effort to keep him.

Keep him where? Do we have a satellite Yamaha team next year?

Here’s a thought for a Cota thread catchphrase: (Hey, there’s already a “Marc” on my new leathers!):D

Not yet. Even if there was I would not want to stay. He should have been given full factory support like crutchlow gets on he LCR. Yamaha put their money behind Grandpa and little miss Mav instead of the guy who lead more laps than everyone else except for Marquez.

Zarco seems very cerebral. I think he can adapt. I don't think KTM are close enough to the pointy end to snag Zarco. If Dani decides this game is stupid, then a seat opens and Zarco has a shot.
    I think he can adapt.
Lorenzo will get to see Rins beat him.
Meanwhile Zarco can push Marc into the weeds.

Too early to say, but could it be that the new Honda is a lot more Zarco friendly than the old Honda?

The 2018 bike seems to like Crutchlow a lot more than its predecessor did.

Also, satellite bikes aren't allowed to rev as high as factory bikes. Revs capped by between 500-1000 rpm. For "safety" reasons. Yamaha are the worst offender here.
