I love that article! I am always quoting it haha. How do you like the 125 vs. 250 for on road and off?

We had only ever had dirt bikes, my boyfriend wanted to get a dual sport. He happened to find an NX250 locally here in Cleveland and thought it was perfect (had no idea how rare they were or anything). He rode it for a few months, got comfortable, and then set his sights on the same bike but bigger (NX650). The NX250 happens to fit me perfectly so it was a nice set up for us. It was a lot harder to find the 650, took us months. Finally tracked this one down in Philadelphia, which is at least an 8 hour drive for us. But we love them, great, reliable, go anywhere bikes!! FYI I always use this site, you have to be willing to drive and go pick something up though: http://www.searchcraigslist.org/

If you liked that, you will enjoy this. 1989 Honda NX250 wins the 2011 Vetter Fuel Challenge with an impressive 157 mpg. http://craigvetter.com/pages/2011- Fuel Economy Contests/2011-Mid-Ohio-results.html

The NX125 is cute and fun to ride. The rarest NX in the USA, a full size pit bike, and good around town and slow back road rides at 93 mpg. It's the only bike my wife will ride with me. She does not know it's constantly pinned wide open...

Our 'CUSTOM' 84 HONDA CT [ XR/TL ] 200 Ag Bike. Best Fun/Trails Bike lv'e put together - Fit XR200 piston, rings & cam, lightened it, changed gearing, XR200 21'' front wheel, S&W 'longer' gas shocks [ to steepen rake ] & cut down steering stops for trials, got rid of racks & put a hot pipe on it. We ended up with an electric & pull start [ zip start ], auto clutch [ un-stall-able for balancing & full lock 'very sharp' turns ], it could 'free wheel' down hills for speed & economy, yet if you needed engine breaking to slow down or for traction, you would accelerate so the auto clutch would kick in again. Fantastic hill climber [ being able to stop, then start again without stalling & minimal wheel spin. l even had to tow a couple of 4WDs up hills or out of bogs EASILY. Also, VERY economical for wilderness riding. l miss this Bike. Harley Riders at Rallies would crowd around to watch me pull/zip start it, then, would be equally ct200.jpeg ct200.jbpeg.jpeg amazed when l would later hit the electric start. One lot of them tried to tell me they reckoned it HAD to be a 'LTD ED. AGRICULTURAL BIKE', ha ha ha.

Sold a lot them in Aust. to farmers. I remember American ads in Bike mags. with lots of Honda trikes using the same motor, but didn't know you didn't get the Ag. Bikes [ interesting ]

? I got rid of the hand brake [ which looked like the clutch lever, on the left ], so there was no lever at all. Funny at lights, where motorists would see me with my left hand on my knee [ l would slip it into 3rd. gear ]. When the lights would change, l would keep my hand on my knee while l blew them all away. They must have thought - wow, that's how it went in 1st!? AND, he didn't use a clutch!? LOL.

Same as you snor - I traded an 06 DL650 for a new, old stock 09 CBF1000. Liked it better in every way, rode it 5-1/2 years, until I traded it for my current fat-girl Trumpet. Good all-rounder that CBF.
