I wish I was closer to 50.
Sorry Gordy, Some of us are doomed to die with a mind of a ten year old!!!!!
Dementia or having fun??? I'll take it if it's the later.
Have you figured out how to get the front wheel up yet?oser
Ummm.. no. No time on it since then. I've been down with some kind of flu crap for the last 5 days.
However, you are more than welcome to gimp on down here and show us how. I don't think I am contagious anymore.
Admission the the park is one large rock or a railroad tie.
oh yeah. I forgot to tell you that I am nursing my wrist still. I am starting to think that I broke something in there right before the Sipapu event.
It should be healed by now if it wasn't.
I need to be careful or I'll have to borrow all of your splints just to ride. :huh
Well go ahead and get a cast on that thing. Lots of time till Lake Fork! I`ll help you cut it off at the riders meeting. At least that`s the way it was when we were younger!
I`ve had plenty of casts in my life, never needed help takin` it off.
No kiddin. I've seen that movie too!
Oh no, real life tales. My first knee surgery in `79 my young Navy DR was all pissed when I removed my own cast after 60 days. Then I reminded him That I stopped him from operating on the wrong knee. At least I knew what I was doing!!
Remind me to tell you the story about how i cut a cast off of my elbow so that I could go waterskiing. I wasn't all that dumb though. I fashioned a makeshift one out of aluminum tubing that was waterproof!
This time of year out here you need a pool as part of your backyard setup. 104* yesterday. Ride --- rinse --- repeat.
No thanks to this crowd I dug this beauty...
...back out yesterday and got her fired up this morning. Gotta love a Honda. A little fresh gas and a coupla kicks, v-room! Ok. More of a sewing machine sound but you get the idea. Click the pic for the story on the bike.
Now that I'm dizzy from figger-8s on the lawn and driveway I'm looking around at other places in the yard that might be fun. This seasonal stream/swale may offer up some fun right out of the box...
Think I'll gear up for that.
Nice! Put your helmet in the freezer while you swim.
A pool, and a new bike, Right on Chuck.
Some of you have extremely kick ass trials courses set up. I decided to start putting one together in my backyard against the wench's wishes. I have been working on turns and small logs for a couple months now and "think" I am doing pretty well. I feel like I need something more challenging, so I picked this tire up from a local shop for free tonight. I was thinking I could learn the basics of splatters on it maybe? The tire should be more forgiving than rocks when I dump the bike . Was also thinking I could add some board ramps on it or something too. Open to ideas if anyone has any, especially ideas of what to put over the big hole in the center. Side note, the Montesa runs a billion times better on 110 octane!
I `installed` one of those this year. I stood it up on end instead of flat. Makes quite the expert obstacle(so put yours flat) for my son to practice. He got cross ways going up too slow, knocked the kick starter open and landed side ways flat on the ground. Broke the lever. That now has become an expensive `free obstacle.`
I just cut a piece of plywood and put in the center of the one I drug home.
Maybe stack some pallets to help you get off the back side of it at first. You probably won't kill yourself getting onto it, but the departure is where things might go south the first few times, so take it easy. You can always remove the pallets when you want to get the "down" part going.
jap zaps, roll ups, double blips, etc.
There is lots you can do with that thing, so enjoy!
Not your leg, that's for sure.
Wow! I won't be doing anything that crazy for quite some time. Hopefully the "free" tire doesn't end up costing me money! :eek1
Ha! I was more worried about getting up on it than getting down. I was going to try and round up some pallets, but wasn't sure where to look for free ones. Also, what's the difference between jap zaps and splatters. I tried to youtube some how-to's, but didn't come up with much. Not sure what a roll up is, but have been practicing the double blips on the small logs I have.
I jotted that down on the don't do list.
Learn to do this & you'll have no worries about that hole.

As I scrolled down into your picture I thought I was looking at an early season snow storm!
Cool find - for free! I'm kinda wearing my little course into bit of a dust bowl. Thinking I need to venture farther afield.
