Thanks! These were all down in an area of KC referred to as the 'West Bottoms'. Pretty much deserted, with a few companies still storing stuff down there. A ghost town vibe though, for sure. Most of the buildings are late 1800's - early 1900's.

I use Photoshop CS3, and Topaz Adjust. I've always had good luck getting the look I'm after in Topaz. Its just a plug-in for Photoshop.

The Rush Valley has a long history when it comes to important land routes.

Through this valley at one time traveled the Central Overland Stagecoach and Express (which was bought by Wells Fargo in 1866), then for a short time the central route of the Overland Stage and Express was an import segment of the Pony Express Trail, and in 1913 the Lincoln Auto Route came through the Rush Valley.

Here is a picture of an old homestead in the Rush Valley where Colonel Steptoe wintered in 1853 with 250 men and troops.

Here is a picture of one of the starting points of the Pony Express Trail enroute to Simpson Springs off SR 36 just south of the Rush Valley.

Many folks on ADV use SmugMug to host, cause it's owned by the owner/creator of this site, and it's a way of supporting all the great things he's done for us.

It's a pay site, but pretty cheap.
