As a fellow hammock camper I appreciate your ingenuity here, but no way I would hang across a trail, which looks to be frequently used.
An impaired fucker tearing along on an atv in the middle of the night, could be a disaster.
It was actually under a bridge near a river, really quite place. I used a tiedown strap as a wedge anchor into a crack in the concrete.
Good point though, I setup my hammock in a walking trail once and scared the crap out of me and these people walking through at midnight. But a drunken ATV rider could be a disaster.

It's a pillow. In a rush to pack I did some last minute stuffing and put a can of sardines in a pack with my pillow. The can got punctured (of course) and leaked sardine juice on some of my gear, like the pillow. I had washed it best I could in the river and it was hanging to dry. It never dried and threw it away about 4 days later.
Stuff happens, huh?
Yeah, just what you want in bear country, sardine juice on your gear.
