These pics are from about a year ago. Don't know how I missed this thread.

I flew from Washington State to Florida to not only buy a brand new R1200GS, but it was also my very first overnight trip as well as my first long distance trip. Over 4,000 miles and what a satisfying trip. I can still remember that first Saturday, March 4, 2016, when I left the dealer in Sarasota heading towards KeyWest. I had never ridden anything bigger than my F800GS and was just so impressed with the mighty 1200. A few pics from that trip.

I hope everyone gets to do a fly and buy like I did. Truly a memorable experience. I wish BMW/Ducati or someone would offer European delivery of a bike like Porsche does. I'd find a way to spring for another bike . . .

After getting back to Washington State in late March, I began planning my trip to Alaska. Aside from more rain than I would have liked, that trip was equally spectacular. In four months I put 12,000 miles on that bike.

No bike but too cool not to post again. Just past the Icefields Parkway near Jasper and about to make a left turn onto the actual Alaska Highway.
