Mine does the same thing. Taking out the battery and then reinstalling it fixes the problem!

I was wndering the same thing. About 5 years ago I plugged my zumo 550 into its cradle while it was raining.
    Turned it on.
    Screen activated then went blank.
Tried all the fixes. No love.
    Been sitting ever since.
    Send it in for repair?
    Or is it toast?

If you tried removing the battery 'fix', I would send it in, (or sell it to some one who will). They seem to go for about $150 working...
