    Hi all,

My Zumo 550 is falling apart - the buttons are dropping out. I've found some replacements on ebay but am unsure of their quality. Has anyone used them or got any other ideas? I can get them to me for about $75 and the installation seems simple enough. Garmin quoted me $200 to replace the unit with a refurbished one some time ago when this all started - is that a good option??

If you have the time to ship to the US, you might try http://www.palmdr.com/. It cost me less than $50US to have the buttons repaired on my 550. It would probably be a bit more for you as shipment to Australia is not free.

Thanks magnells, as you say it's probably a more expensive way of doing it as the $50US is almost the $75AUS the eBay option costs.. Cheers

    Hi Trev,
I can't help you with the buttons but I have a question about the 550 for you, does your 550 have problems pronouncing street names at all?

Haha, Yes it does but only local vernacular ones I think, but I often have a snigger about one or two. I generally know what it means. Cheers
