My Zumo 660 has developed a charging problem when on the bike cradle, not charging. All the cradlle pins and back contacts on the Zumo appear in good condition but I cleaned them - still no charging. I've confirmed I've got power to the plug-in supply point on the bike. The GPS charges ok when connected via USB into the back port.

So I replaced the cradle thinking that was the problem and still the GPS unit doesn't appear to charge.

I've tried to test the voltage at the pins (#17 & 18) on both the old and new cradles, but I don't get a voltage reading.

What voltage should I get ('full' 12v or something less?)?

Is there anyone in Melbourne (Surrey Hills?) with a Zumo 660 or working cradle I could use to test my Zumo and/or cradle?

    Cheers,

So I managed to sort out my problem!!
As it turned out, I realised the cradle and unit was working OK and charging on one bike (BM 1150GS), but not the other (KTM)!
The cause was excessive voltage drop in the wiring to the 12V outlet on the KTM, which was an aftermarket installation. I was only getting 11.xx V.
I've now upgraded the wiring to the socket and it all works!!!
