ZUMO Problem.

    (couldn't decide where to post this - Admins?)

    My zumo has stopped talking to me. I don't know what I did. Usually when girls stop talking to me, its obvious why....not at all obvious in this case, why the hot british chick inside my zumo hates me.

    I tried the zumo with the bluetooth to my Nolan. She won't talk to me.

    I tried the zumo with the cradle / cable to headphones. She won't talk to me, here either

    I tried the zumo with the car cradle. She won't talk to me, still!

    Puzzled.

    Is it time to call Garmin and get counseling?

    Try a reset, hold the + and on button until it powers up. That has always solved any problems I've had with mine.

    Its not getting power.....

    How do I know this? Well because the battery is now dead. Neither in the car cradle nor in the bike kit.

    Hmmm.

    I suppose I could charge it up with the USB cable and perform the reset - however - this surely seems like a call to Garmin. No?

    We have a GPS forum on this site called Layin' down tracks, where all your GPS questions can be asked. Let's try this one there.

    I find Garmin's online support second to none. Give them a call. Also, be sure to get the webupdater off their site and update your Zumo's firmware to version 3.80.

    There is also a dedicated Zumo forum over at http://www.zumoforums.com/ They may be abel to help you out if Garmin Tech Support is shutdown for the holidays but I second GB's sentiments, they have been great with me in the past.

    Jesus Christ,a hard reboot is not the answer to all problems all of the time.

    I don't have one in front of me at the moment,but go into settings,
    look for thr lips and make sure the person talking is TTS if you want street names.

    Forget all above .

    No talkie?
    Is it a unit that has an FM transmitter?
    Switch that over to non FM.

    I had a problem where I shut off my 550 by removing it from the cradle and answering No to the continue on battery? A while later I tried to power it up and got no response. Holding the power button for a long time produced no results. Felt very much like a dead battery, but there was no reason for it to be dead (short of being defective). When I got home, I removed the battery and reinstalled it. Bingo, everything works now.

    I now carry a 2mm allen key in my tank bag just in case it happens again.

    OK They've been great but have they has anyone gotten any feedback as to why so many are "dieing".

    Its great that they replace them so readily but it would be nice to know if there working on the problem or just pumping out defective units.
