Husqvarna Motorcycles has announced that their new Svartpilen 701 is now available globally. The machine was first announced during the 2018 EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan Italy.
The Svartpilen 701 is Husqvarna’s “flat track inspired street explorer”. It is the brand’s latest addition to the Vitpilen and Svartpilen motorcycle lineup.
Husqvarna says that the Svartpilen (Black Arrow in Swedish) is “designed to appeal to style-conscious motorcycle enthusiasts while offering outstanding performance in all riding conditions.”
The new model hosts a 692 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine that reportedly puts out 75 HP and 53 ft-lb of torque. Its adjustable suspension is provided by WP. The front features upsidedown 43mm forks while at the rear, an adjustable WP shock handles the duties.
Braking is courtesy of Brembo. A single 320 mm disc handles the duties up front while a 240 mm unit handles rear. Bosch 9M two-channel ABS is standard.
The new machine weighs in at 349 pounds without fuel. Husqvarna’s website is not clear whether the stated weight includes oil and coolant. If it does, you can expect the Svartpilen 701 to weigh in at about 372 pounds with a fully fueled 12-liter fuel tank.
Seat height is 32.9 inches (835 mm). Other features include a 6-speed transmission, slipper clutch, ride by wire throttle and LED lighting. In the USA, MSRP for the Svartpilen is $11,999.
The Svartpilen is certainly interesting to look at. What do you think of the new model?
