The KTM Ultimate Race is a six-day rally challenge of over 1,000 km. It will test each participant’s riding skills and their ability to navigate and conquer Morocco’s trails and dunes. Each rider will race on equally prepared KTM 790 Adventure R Rally machines.
Treated like factory riders
All KTM Ultimate Race competitors are receiving KTM Factory rider treatment. They will receive support on-site with a truck and a team of mechanics. That team will assist the riders with parts, tools, and bike maintenance.
Rally specialists Chris Birch and Quinn Cody will also be present to coach the participants throughout the race. Both will offer all participants guidance in all aspects of this grueling event.
Speaking about the event, KTM’s CMO Hubert Trunkenpolz had this to say:
“Allowing KTM to engage directly with the flourishing global Travel community, the KTM ADVENTURE RALLIES and the KTM ULTIMATE RACE perfectly demonstrate that the READY TO RACE spirit is alive and strong within all KTM riders. Following a massively successful first edition last year, we are glad to see 12 selected riders from around the world progress through the KTM ADVENTURE RALLIES to secure a spot at the KTM ULTIMATE RACE 2020 in Morocco.
It is important to point out that these are not Factory riders, but normal KTM ADVENTURE customers who won their qualifiers at a regional KTM ADVENTURE RALLY to get this unique opportunity to race an acclaimed multi-stage rally aboard a KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY. I want to congratulate these 12 riders for earning their spot and I will be looking forward to following their race progress at the KTM ULTIMATE RACE in May.”
It’s great to see non-factory riders being supported in racing with such enthusiasm. With this opportunity, perhaps one or more of the twelve KTM Ultimate Race competitors will make it to the factory level in the future.
