Rally Dakar is over, and, as the dust settles, I’m going through hundreds of Dakar images I still haven’t processed. I’m not a photographer, and this was my first attempt ever to capture images with something other than my phone. They aren’t stunning action shots – but they tell a story.
Here is my Dakar in photos.

5am start at the Lima bivouac
The Dakar begins
Nathan Rafferty off to race
Pisco special stage finish line
Corre, corre, corre!
Loneliness in the crowd
Over the dune
Beers and shades
Waiting for the perfect shot
So close now.
When the dust settles

The work begins
Raodbooks and Gatorade
Selfies for the locals
The extraordinary in the mundane
Did I miss a waypoint?
Can I get a RedBull too?
The bivouac never sleeps
A fresh start
