It appears that COVID hasn’t hurt Ducati this year.  The company’s 3rd quarter 2021 results show record sales.  So far, the Italian manufacturer’s 2021 deliveries are outpacing 2020.  In fact, at the end of Q3, 2021, Ducati’s deliveries exceeded all of those made in 2020.  At the end of Q3, Ducati had shipped 49,693 motorcycles to riders worldwide.  This is in comparison to 48,042 bikes delivered in all of 2020.

Many manufacturers are seeing sales growth this year.  Often large portions of this growth have been attributed to persons seeking to avoid public transportation with smaller, inexpensive machines.  While some of that theory may be true, Ducati’s sales are often in the “premium” market.  This may mean that rising sales may be due to people looking for more expensive and “fun to ride” machines.

Ducati Q3 results

The Ducati Multistrada V-4 is its #1 seller so far in 2021.

Interestingly, Ducati says that throughout the first three quarters of 2021, all of its product line families have been growing across the board.   According to Ducati, the most delivered bikes are the Multistrada V4, which has remained in first place throughout 2021, followed by the Ducati Scrambler 800 family, the Streetfighter V4, and the Monster.

Ducati Q3 comments

Francesco Milicia, Ducati VP Global Sales and After Sales, had this to say about Ducati’s first three quarters:

Ducati closed the first nine months of the year with sales volumes that are already higher than the full year 2020, both for the bikes and for after-sales products like clothing, accessories and spare parts. The growth we are experiencing is practically widespread on all the main markets in which Ducati is present and extends across the product families. We are very satisfied with the results obtained: the community of Ducatisti is growing all over the world and the most influential magazines in the motorcycling sector are awarding important prizes to Ducati bikes.

This is a source of pride and satisfaction for us here in Borgo Panigale and in all Ducati subsidiaries worldwide. The brand is now more solid and appreciated than ever and we are already focusing on next year. In fact, in these weeks, we are presenting to the world the new products for the coming year, through the web series Ducati World Première 2022″.

Ducati does seem to be on a roll.  It is now in the process of releasing new bikes from its 2022 product lineup.  So far, Ducati has unveiled the Multistrada V2, Ducati Scrambler 1100 Tribute PRO, and its Scrambler Urban Motard.

Ducati plans to release additional models via its Ducati World Premiere 2022 series.  For a list of the unveilings, you can visit Ducati’s World Premiere 2022 webpage.
