Can anyone give me some leads for a motorcycle rental place in Johannesburg that rents bikes other than BMW? I would like to rent something for 2-3 weeks, and cross into some of the countries to the North, probably Zimbabwe and Botswana. I found several BMW places, but they all cost about $110-150/day to start and don't get much cheaper for multi-day. On top of that, they have high deductibles which is always a concern if one bends a rim or something and the rental place wants to bleed you of more money. I'm on a budget and would like to find a place to rent some cheaper motorcycles. I am not sure what is popular down in SA. Do you guys have a lot of Chinese knockoffs down there? I just want something that is 400+ cc for mostly pavement unless there is no pavement.
Try posting up on Wild Dogs forum. I did and they came through like Gold! i rented a members bike for 3 weeks, cheaper than the BMW rental places you find online. We came to a mutual agreement on insurance and rate. Wild Dogs rule!

Their pavement can be pretty fast over there. 120km for a good length.. You might enjoy somthing a little bigger than a 400. I will have feet on the ground in mid august again.. Messing about in the Limpopo area.. I hope to see some of you wild dogs when over.
