depends on what bike you're riding....small bikes = pinnacles ohv area

i suggested crab flats for camping; someone got to get there early friday and secure a couple of spots. earliest i could make it to lake arrowhead on friday is around 8pm.

It's time to do it again! Last years Report: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=245
Here is the plan: Meet at the Gas Station next to McDonald's off the 15 fwy and hwy 138 @ 8:00. Head out to Pioneer Town. If you have never been there is a cool little town with a unique restaurant/bar. Here is the link if you want the check it out: http://www.pappyandharriets.com/. The food is good and the drinks are cold! I plan on going at a good pace in order to make it there by lunch (12:00) and back in a reasonable time. I plan on doing as much dirt as possible. If you plan on going I suggest having a 100 mile range min. Everyone is welcome to go and no one will be left behind. Knobbies are suggested and a C+ riding skill is recommended. (Plan on doing 140 miles+) If some people don't want to do the loop going back you can take the fwy back home from Pioneer Town.

This year the plan is to make this a weekend trip. Some folks are camping and other are motel-ing it. (M1Jeep is camping so if you planing to tent it you might want to contact him)

    Sat: Pioneer Town ride

Sunday: 8:AM Single track and exploring Pinnacles ohv staging area & MS trail . (meet at the Pinnacles staging area.) small bike all the hard ways.

Friday nights Dinner and Drinks will be at the Grill @ (7:00 PM) http://www.thegrillatantlersinn.com/

Sat night dinner TBD later depending on the group size.

Please post up if you plan on attending.

things are looking better for me being able to do this ride, and i have a friend (PJH66, nowwhat's smartass buddy) who wants to come along. hope we can make it. one thing, though --- he'll be on a super enduro, so how hard is the small bike single track? thanks.

Wow it's not like Mike to worn off a rider? Normally he would encourage the noob rider and then charge up his extra batteries for his camera?:lol3

Sundays route will depend on the turn out. Joel and a few other will probably do the standard route. I Might lead a smaller intermediate/adv group and maybe Noel and some other can take the Adv group. A lot will depend on the turn out.

We could all work are way up cleghorn around and up to silverwood to Pinnacles some can continue thur Pinnacles and work up to BB others can go up to Grass Valley and work are way up to Big Bear then on to PT. Mostly dirt but will have to hit a little HWY from Arrowhead to GV.

Sunday looks like a strong group is wanting to do lot of single track stuff :clap

But this area has lots to offer and should not turn others away. My suggestion is that we all meet at Pinnacles staging area at 8:AM and break up into groups then. I know Joel and other are not planning on riding the crazy stuff so I'm sure others can group up with him.

FYYFF and I will be leaving LB by 8pm Friday evening for a night ride to camp. Taking Cleghorn to 138 to Pilot Rock trail to Lake Arrowhead then slabbing it towards Green Valley and back to dirt at 3N16 / Green Valley road to Crab Flats campground. Setup camp and wait for the Saturday arrivals and head to Pioneer town.

Those of you interested are welcomed to join us. This will be BIG bike friendly on regular fire roads.

Ok guys. I should get all my parts back tomorrow or Saturday. It should only take about 4 hours to get my bike back together. How should I break in the bike to be able to ride it in next weeks pioneer ride.? Ben

get it up to operating temp on a 15 minute ride then park for 2 hours to let it cool completely. do this 2-3 times, the heat cycle is good for break in purposes. change the oil and your good to go.

or just ride it normal. either way should be fine depending on who you ask.
