That will be great since this last one was standing room for having dinner and a few were standing eating their dinner......everyone was great though since a few of us ate in shifts prior to the raffles etc. It was one packed hall.:lol3

The latest Edelweiss catalog of tours arrived yesterday. It's got a picture of bikes lined up in front of Dick's hotel during a D2D a year or two back. Looks like it's being touted as part of one of their rides.

Other than the obvious downtown hotel, where is a good place to stay in Dawson City? I figured the hotel is the place where all the FUN festivities happen late into the evening. Nothing against the beverage consuming fun loving crowd (used to be one, part of my past now), I guess I'd rather stay someplace a little quieter......Sorry, but thats just me. Any suggestions/recommendations?

The Downtown Hotel is a great place to stay. Mrs. Mud and I stayed there last year and our room was just as quiet as it was in the Westmark back in 2010. One big advantage is being so close to all the action. We will be bunking at the DH again next year.

I stayed at the WestMark for D2D 2011. Also staying the there were something like 100 Harley "bikers"!!! I thought "that's cool, could be an interesting bunch". Then I found out there were 100 "bikers" and ZERO (0) bikes! That's right, NONE! They came in on a bus and were leaving on a bus. Hahahaha
So, what's a bunch of bikers without bikes?... Just a bunch of old people in Harley shirts, and hats and jackets and tank tops and boots and bags and wallets and even lots of jeans with "Harley Chick" bedazzeled across the ass. I shit you not! Not one Harley to be found. Hehe... "Bikers". :lol3

Wife and I stayed at DH second night. No problems getting sleep and the price is very reasonable. You COULD stay at one of the other B&B's, but the price goes up exponentially. Camping seems to be a good option but one my bride will not approve of as she says she did enough camping in the Marines to last a lifetime!

I stayed at the El Dorado Hotel just a short block walk from the "Downtowner." They have a annex right next to the main hotel that was great, quiet, great parking etc. Check out the web site and photo of where the snow machines are parked thse are the rooms.:lol3

    Hope that works for you.

    OK....Yep, I'm flying Med-Air again....so please be patient.....maybe I should wait to ask when we've landed...but by then I might forget the question.....Doh!!!

June 21 and 22 are set in stone, a thursday and friday....so far so good. The big day is the 21st correct? I'm trying to plan and book camping dates and don't want to sit too long in one location this time round. Not that I didn't enjoy the stay last summer, but we have much more planned this time round. As it sits, I hope to get there the night before on the 20th the wednesday. Thursday would be the poker run, the banquet and the games correct? Thursday would just be the wind down correct or am I forgetting something? I am thinking that we could leave the GoldRush campsite thursday afternoon to start our climb up the Dempster.

If this is correct I am pulling the trigger on the reservations, as I'm semi anal about getting those dates etc.

    Am I seeing it correctly? Please advise......yes I know....put the meds down.....sorry can't do that.....lol:cry:freaky
