    Ride report for 7-22-2012

Last Sunday I did another dawn till dusk solo ride in Sequoia NF :clap I got into some very nice single track in the high sierra with great views and challenging terrain, the cooling fan on the 525 was running alot. I ended up doing 117 miles and 11 hours for the day. Yep, another day in dirt bike paradise...Here's a few pics from the ride.

I always post upcoming rides, you just need to have a good trail bike and know how to ride it in the tight stuff...And PM me if you want to go.

A buddy and I spent 45 minutes on that hillclimb a few years ago. Man it was hot that day. After 40 minutes of failed attemps, we dropped the rear tire pressure and cleaned it. Love that trail.

You didn't accidently leave a pair of running shoes out there did ya?...There was a pair of fairly new Asics running shoes right by the huge ponderosa covering the trail....Prob. Growers...:eek1
I was running a trials tire and it helped gettting up that....however my partner had a new set of MX 51's on....and they just spun ......We discussed dropping pressure...after I rode the bikes up....

We met up early Saturday morning and were on the trails by about 10 AM.
    Scott...Happytrailsinc - John...Kap - John...Junglemototrails - and myself

My new ride to go with my new screen name...

The weather warmed up to the high 80's but much better then the 100 degrees at lower elevations.
And fires raging around us... :eek1 But the smoke was blowing away from us so no problem there.
We did some remote camping close to this kick ass mountain cabin.

The trails were EPIC..!! But not a place for the weak...
We lost Kap early saturday with three broken toes and some stitches... Hope your feeling better John..!!
The trails were rocky and overgrown in places. The mountain fought back as we powered through.
The bushes would grab at your gear and pulled me off my bike and to the ground more than once.

    Here's some pic's...

Gotcha... Junglemototours repairing a hole in his waterpump cover.

Yeah that's the trail.. This trail is called rocky ridge and it felt more like Moab in places...The trail would lead you onto big round rocks and you would have to look around for where the trail would contine at. and roll your way across the rocks to find it. The most challenging section for me.

We did about 50 miles of Single track and about ten miles of Forest roads each day
There were some (a little) senic trails...

Follow the leader... Shit..!! where's he going now...
J/K... Thanks for taking the lead Scott..!!
He had a plan and didn't even need look at the map.

But Scott seems to seek out the hard stuff as we parallel the easier stuff...
But we were down and the bikes powered through some tuff shit..!!

But this place is awesome... We explored mine shafts...

Lots of creeks and river crossings...

    Killer meadows even in August

And Mountain Top lookouts..!! The adventure we were all looking forward too..!!

I got home just after 10 pm on sunday night.... What did you do last weekend ????
    What an awesome trip..!!
