the 8 smaller cabins are bunk cabins (ie no bathroom), but are 4 showers for men and the same for women (I think)... and I'm sure us girls will be ok if you use our showers too - as long as you let us cut in line . Plus there are more bathrooms on the top level in the "convention center". When can you start booking?... well, that's included in the first post : October 15th (after we get back from Barber).
If you like fly fishing there are quite a few spots around there. I might even know where there are some brookies, but you'll have a helluva hike. Rainbows and Browns are easy to get to.
I have a 7ft Orvis 1 Wt that I love for those little natives. They have better be taking dry's or midges cause that rod ain't throwing anything bigger
I'm looking again. he only 4 piece rods I have are a 7wt and an 8wt. There's is enough time to come up with a 4 piece 2 wt between now and the rendezvous. I've used a 1wt (once) and prefer the 2 since it will handle small nymphs.
Yes, I'm sure we can use the help. I'm in Bristol, so I'm close, but don't know the area very well. Need to do a lot more scouting. I'm leaning toward a "Big bikes twisty pavement ride". Some people don't like gravel, and I think we should accommodate them as well as the more adventurous.
Mike you're welcome to my Orvis 2 wt. 2 wts are perfect for up there. I can bring a 5 wt if either of you want to do tail water fishing for rainbows and browns. The small streams like Elk Hair Caddis and Copper Johns or Prince nymphs down low, but in brookies country bring a big size 12 anything in a 1980's electric color. They aren't picky.
I'm certainly up for a twisty pavement ride or two. I live on a gravel road and have to ride 12 miles of it every time I go out so I don't need to go look for it!
Thanks for the fly tips and the rod offer! If I don't pick up a small 4 piece before then I'll let you know. Speaking of Brookies, many years ago a friend and I were pack fishing in Shenandoah NP and we came across a stream that looked to be about a foot deep and was so narrow, a tall man could straddle it. A resident 16" Brookie inhaled a size 10 Wooly Worm and put up a magnificent fight for him. One of those times you tend to savor.
Just shoot me a PM, I'm up for anything. I love twisties, I love off road, I love creeks, I love riding Oh and I got a big bike and a small bike, so I can do whatever.
