Not all radiator caps (Honda VF750) have a pressure release valve.... Found out just before I turned my brother's garage into a sauna :)
Like this... I have a great amount of tools from my mechanic/fab days. I plan on aquiring most specific tools I'll need to work on my new F800GS I'm buying this week. Once I get all my tools home (at a friends shop), and some of the speciality tools ordered, I'll be glad to help anyone near the Birmingham Alabama area, or loan speciality tools.
Looking to borrow pre-94 dr650 flywheel puller. I aint gonna even try the bfh screwdriver technique! Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
I have a newly built garage with lifts and lots of tools that can be used on your bikes. Air compressor, press, welding table.
I notice there's a pro GS-911 for sale in the Flea Market right now. How can we get one into the tool pool? Anyone else willing to donate towards having one in circulation?
This thread looks pretty dead, but I thought I would mention that I have put together a flange puller/installer that I will loan out. See this thread for more details: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=23249619&postcount=249
I would like to try and change the doohickey my self....so I need to borrow the tools if somebody has them to loan Thanks Randy Well I guess that no one has the tool to loan!?
I know Indy is a major pass through point - I have garage space and hand tools, power tools, air tools, drill press, etc. I can mount and balance tires for you for a nominal fee if non-emergency. I normally have fluids and JB Weld on-hand. No major projects please - but day-repairs and emergencies are welcome to contact me via PM!
Saab, $21 piece of flattened wire to hold pressure plate fingers down for slave cylinder insertion...
No idea what a doohickey is. Maybe an idea of year and model of bike in question would help. The term doohickey has been around for ages. It doesn't apply to any specific part that I know of. Maybe some riders have appropriated this word for their use?
There is one particular item on KLR650s that is so well known for failure that most KLR owners replace it preemptively, and among dual sport riders it is universally known as the "doohickey". It's one of the rare cases of a generic word being used to refer to a very specific thing, and it taking over.
Anyone willing to loan out a 49mm fork seal driver to a non-ham-fisted type of guy? I need to check out what's what in my DRZ's fork, planning for the worst, hoping for the best.
