It's the bike unfortunately but thanks for offering to loan me the trailer that was very generous. I'll eventually get a truck so I can haul the toys to the woods rather than pushing through 4 hrs of slab on a naked 650.

    Have fun

You guys probably don't have cell service up there but I've had some family stuff come up so I won't be able to make it. Have fun!

I got home about 12:45 to give the dogs some much needed attention, unload, and some honey dos before the wife gets home from Chico.

Andrew was updating me on the way back to Napa. He just got home a few minutes ago with a slow leak on that tube mounted last night.

While on the way down the hill, my wife texts me that there was a 6.0 earthquake in Napa and her train is delayed for track inspections. Andrew said part of his parents chimney came down. Wow!

Hats off to Rustler! He gets the Endurance prize. He left this morning going down Black Rock and crossing the Kings to go home the long way to SoCal. He can tell the story after he gets home. I'm sure it will be great.

It was a great event an nice meeting you all. I cannot give enough thanks to Hesaid/Shesaid for all of their planning.

Yes he did, and it was awesome! Thanks to Hesaid and Shesaid for all the pre-running and other work that went into organizing the event.

Kimberly and I were pretty wiped out by the time we made it home to Sonora, but it was well worth it. She has much higher confidence in her off road capabilities after making it through those trails.

I learned that dressing up a big supermoto like a dirt bike doesn't make it ride like one. :lol3 I did make it through, though.

This was a successful weekend of camping. Thanks to SheSaid and HeSaid for posting the ride. We pretty much had the camp area to ourselves with room to spare. Bring a shovel.

Friday afternoon Ironbasher1 and I took off for Swamp Lake. I hope that someday I may actually make that trail as it was too much for the ground clearance of the 690 and my short legs. After a few attempts to get through a rather large boulder dodging section I threw in the towel. Just then a jeep comes through and the driver said it only gets worse further up the grade.

On Saturday LongTallSally and I got a late start so we didn't make the SheSaid ride with the group. We did it in the clockwise direction to finally rendezvous with them on a bit of a summit where they were all huddled under a shade tree. LTSally can fill in the rest of the Saturday tale. Providing he recalls it. I hope he's doing well.

Sunday Craig, Martin, and I headed off to Bald Mountain on the OHV route. That didn't go as planned. IT was too formidable on one section and stopped traffic on another route didn't give us a warm fuzzy feeling. We rode on the north hoping to find yet another easier route. Martin rode back to camp. Craig and I found a less challenging route and were rewarded with a beautiful view.
    Here is a pic.

That view on Bald Mountain is great. No wonder the place gets crowded for firework displays.

Welp, I made it home in one piece. The tire was ok this morning when I got up. Then I put my panniers on the bike and optopilot told me it was flat again... So we filled it back up and hoped for the best. Luckily it was a very slow leak and I was able to make it down the mountain. Filled it up once on the way home in Chowchilla and that was that. Thanks to all who helped out with my nightmare yesterday. A few bumps and bruises but a great experience overall! I even enjoyed an ice cold bud lite! And who knew how many innuendos could be made with a tire tube and some baby powder...

I think Andrew will be practicing the tube repair in the quiet and friendly surroundings of home. Andrew you can all show us the technique. Good thing Craig stepped in to lend a hand. Also good that you found the offending blade. I think there is pic of that piece.

    Well we made it home.

First off, I'd like to offer a huge thanks to those that picked me and the bike up. Frankly, I think I was out for a bit as it seemed like you guys were there immediately.

Bottom line, I launched a simple water bar jump without looking at the landing and sure enough there was a wash- that I landed in- going a different direction than I wanted. It pulled me down the embankment and I bashed my melon pretty good.

Again, big thanks to those that came and helped me and the bike up. I was woozy and a little dizzy for the ride back to camp, but generally OK. For those that were concerned, if I took my helmet off and stopped I would've been done, so I think I did the right thing, and as coarsegold said after we got back, I was "detuned" for the ride back to camp.

The ER doc confirmed a concussion and a separated shoulder. Thankfully no brain swelling or cracked skull or anything really bad- just a HUGE lump on my head. I'm taking today off just to rest some more and then a couple more weeks off from the gym, but all in all I'm OK.

On the ride and such itself, it was WONDERFUL! We LOVED the area to camp, and definitely want to go back there. Thanks so much for setting it up and I promise next time I'll not bang myself up so I can enjoy more fun. I'll post up some pics later.
