All Things Bonneville

Given the lenght of production, the number of variations & the shear number of them out there, it's high time we have a Triumph Bonneville thread. My take: not the fastest, not the lightest but one of the most flexible. I've had it crawling down fire trails and on thousand mile freeway days and it just takes it all in stride. A solid bike that just feels right, sort of the way motorcycles were before mega-segmentation set in. Keeper.

i like the cast wheel bonnies better than the spokes....i have had both.
it's just a fun happy bike that always puts a smile on my face when i ride it.

I've posted another photo elsewhere, but here is my '03 Bonneville T100. Made at Hinckley, all metal bodywork, and with the 790cc engine; its dolled up to resemble a '68 T100R.

Here is my '77.

3 special editions for 2015. I've not tended to be a fan of those in the past but the T214 (as in 214 MPH at Bonneville in 1956) is looking pretty good:

Then again, dialing these things in is half the fun & given the long run, there are a lot of options out there for doing just that.

'spokes & chrome fenders just really seem to go together don't they? That was something the W650 got right from the start.

Judging by signature lines, it would appear Bonnies tend to not be the only bikes in the garage. I wonder how common that is, only MBS (multiple bike syndrome) suffers need apply? I myself am at 4 at the moment.

I bought a used 03 Bonnie for my 50th Bday..few years ago
Made the mistake of letting the wife ride it. She then claimed it as her's
Bought her a used 07 Bonnie...wasn't the same
Bought her a new 09 Scrambler ....nope
She likes the 03 best.
Sold them all except the 03.. I rode it 200 miles Saturday.

Agreed that these bikes need their own thread. I have bmw adv bike, but just recently purchase a new Bonneville for riding around town and out to the beach. It is such a fun bike to ride. Putting a new seat on the bike this week. Will post some photos soon.

That 58' Pontiac looks a lot like the 58" Chevy Yeoman wagon I had when I was a kid.....

When my petite duaghter decided it was time to move up from her first bike, a ninja 250, we went to the NY IMS show. I tried to steer her to the new 500 cc Hondas, light, inexpensive, ABS. She fell in love with the Bonnie and bought a leftover '13. When I rode the bike I found it to be an incredibly easy bike to feel comfortable on.

She enjoys that bike more every time she takes it for a ride. She puts on soft luggage and will ride all day, smiling the entire time.

They all do that...

I bought the basic Bonnie just for Commuting (I always say that - "I need a commuter"). This bike is so good at many things. It only has very small changes (air injection fell off somewhere...) and I added a backrest as I plan to have my daughter ride with me some. I have also taken it on all day, 500 mile backroad rides as well as stupid long Interstate to the mountains rides. It is equally good at both. It isn't a 100% sport bike or a 100% tourer, but it is 80% as good as both in my opinion. It is a very easy bike to ride. All day and I only get tired if I am fighting strong winds. It also has a nice clean, classic look. I can ride with my Harley neighbors and it fits right in.

Right now it has over 6500 miles. My Duc Hyper only has 4500.

I've put 30,000 miles on mine in three years...

Many weekend rides, several 1,000 mile trips, and one 2,500 mile tour of the Mid-West...

Just upgrade the suspension, make some saddle improvements, and ride...

Good gawd I love Bonnies. However, a 6'1"/250# guy simply does not belong on one.
