Well.... you can get a little info here. Sounds like we'll have to wait a while still, but it's on its way. It apparently has everything the C3 Pro has with addition of a visor and improved venting along with misc other additions/improvment. Will carry a pricy price tag of around $800. I've never had a Schuberth on my head because the dealer that fit me for my Arai said a Schuberth wouldn't be a good fit because the shell is a round head shape and I'm an intermediate to long oval, but I've always wanted one. I'm going to try this helmet on for sure as soon as they hit the stores, and hope it fits me.
I'm in the market for a new DS helmet and this sounds very promising however very pricey. I will head to the shop today and try on the BMW GS helmet, hoping it fits well. I didn't care for the Shoei hornet or Arai so we'll see.
You seen the Hornet 2 in the flesh? I've only seen a video review of it but it looks a lot better than the original.
+1 for the Hornet 2. I am testing it right now for a review and have been really been impressed with how much better it is than the original. I am very intrigued by the idea of a Shuberth ADV helmet though, pricy but super high quality.
Dont know if I want to spend so much on a dirt helmet. It WILL get tossed around a bit. I went with the AGV EVO gt. Great light and quiet helmet ata reasonable price. I do have a C3 pro for road rides. Love it.
I would be in the Hornet X2 if they made it in Hi-Viz yellow, but it is a heavy helmet. I doubt the E1 will fit my head, but I'm going to try it anyway. Too bad the folks at Schuberth can't figure out that all heads aren't shaped like a balloon.
FWIW, I owned one of the first Schuberth Concept helmets loong time ago when they were loud, heavy, and shaped for round heads. I bought a C-3 Pro this year after a long hiatus and the fit is much different and more intermediate oval than round. If it's been while, since you tried on one of their helmets, you might be surprised...I was.
Great, giving the Nexx helmet to the missus then :) I just hope the Sena intercom on the Nexx helmet eill communicate with Schuberths Intercom.
Not sure what to do with the NEXX. I really like many things about it, but others are troublesome. Just had to reinstall two of the red clip at the back of the helmet as they pulled out with the check pads. They were held in place with the same rubbery glue crap they use to stick credit cards to the paper form when they send them to you. That might not make sense to you in Sweden i guess, maybe they don't do that there. I installed them with 3M VHB tape, so they won't come out again, but it's a joke they way they put those helmets together. It also runs really small size wise. It should have ben roomy on me and needing the additional pads installed, instead, it really tight and I end up with a big red hot spot on top of my head on one one forehead as well. Also feel like someone has a trash bag over my head in, the chin vent doesn't flow enough air to clear my breath out so I'm always rebreathing warm air. That said, i'm hooked on how clear the face shield is, soooo much better than my Arai, and the pinlock actually fits perfectly, and works and is still optically better than my Arai. Also like the flip down tinted screen, and how quiet the helmet s. I'm really hoping the E1 is the silver bullet to but all my wants in a helmet in one lid, that actually quality built.
I have a Schuberth C3 and a Arai XD. My only complaints about the Schuberth is the lack of the bill to block out he sun and it needs a little more air flow for summer months. With out the bill the visor is like a green house so then you ride with it partially open and the visor buffeting around drives me crazy. I use the ARai in the summer , great air flow and sun blocking but I do miss the modular chin piece and the Schuberth is the quietest helmet I have owned. Also the interior quality is much nicer on the C3 compared to the Arai IMO. Hope the E1 solves my few issues with the C3.
Wait a second... you're telling me that this is a flip-up helmet like the C3? Seriously? I have a C3 and like it a lot but on a DS helmet, this is a feature that will just add weight. I've been waiting for this helmet for nearly 2 years and this is the first reported sighting and I'm shocked it is a flip-up.
Hmmm... just found a few reviews. I will not rush to judgement. Sounds kinda cool. http://www.exploringoverland.com/overland-tech-travel/2015/8/27/sneak-preview-schuberth-e1-helmet
This is our rendering of the new Schuberth E1 ADVenture helmet. We haven't gotten our hands on it yet, but as soon as we do we'll have more information. It looks a bit like the Halo Master Chief helmet. It will be interesting to see how the modular design works with the peak. Can't wait to get it on the scale and find out what it weighs. -HVB
I got my eyes on this helmet yesterday. It's almost identical to the sketch above. I've never owned a Schuberth, but I did put the E1 on my head and I took a C3 for a demo ride. Internally the E1 is essentially the same as the C3. Every single feature of the C3 is in the E1. I saw a brochure on colors and they are going to release the common solid colors as well as some with graphics. Basically they are releasing two set of graphics with 2 or 3 different colors integrated in. The two sets will be one set of matte finish and one of standard/gloss. If you are into the HiViz look, they are releasing a pretty cool yellow HiViz graphic. They did say that they did not design the helmet around goggles. I had some goggles with me and tried to fit them, I'm guessing if you find the right brand, they would fit. The shield and visor are super simple to remove and the visor has some quick and simple buttons that allow you to move it up and down, then re lock in place. If you can catch the Schuberth demo truck, they have it with them. I saw them while in KC and I know they are headed east to continue the tour.
What is your head shape? I probably need at least an intermediate oval for it to work out for me. Really hoping it fits as I've resolved myself to the realization that my NEXX is a temporary solution, but really don't want to go back to my XD4 either. I guess they still aren't allowing any photos of the E1? Would love to see something other than the sketch. I'll get a look at it next month at the Adventure Designs BBQ, but I'm anxious to get a look at it asap.
err -1 for the Hornet X2 just took delivery of mine and it has broken chin vent out of the box no chance of warranty coverage in Australia because it was from Europe and the Australian distributors won't even have spare parts before January my second Shoei but also my last
Hard to tell anything from a drawing but putting a visor on a helmet does not make it a DS. A plus about a DS helmet is the extra vision you get with the lower chin bar, not the way this one looks, plus a flip up....strike two....add the extra weight of the flip up...but who knows anything until we can get our greedy lil hands on it. Just my 2 cents.
I'm not sure of my head shape. I normally wear Arai and did not have this helmet on long enough to tell if it had pressure points. If you can wear an C3, this helmet should be just fine for you. I asked about photos and they politely declined. I think this was mostly because it wasn't finished. It has some unpainted spots and it was a strange greenish color. The extra vision is nothing like a true dual sport. I would guess that the visor is exactly the same as the C3, so you're going to get the same parameters of vision. I'm not sure I'd classify this as a true dual sport. It is light though, I noticed that right away.
