I saw someone with Green either Akto or Evan at Furness Creek Death Valley last month and it's not that dark. Also that person somehow in the early morning, high wind woke me up, and I looked out from my Nallo and saw the Akto flapping, no visible anchor to the ground, just a body sleeping inside and destroyed from the wind. Prolly didn't anchor all the guy lines down. It was sad to see.

I will try to take some pics and take my Niak, Hille tarp and Nammatj and put the fabrics next to each other so you can see the color difference and also add in some black fabric as reference.

I have some adjustments coming in from Hilleberg and I will apply them before I go on the trip (if the weather allows - I'm not packing a wet tent from home already...). I will take some pics already and provide some initial thoughts. (Will try to at least because it is a bit hectic over here)

Regarding warm weather camping. I hate it and tend to avoid it. Which is not that hard here in Europe (Western, Northern) to do as I just need to skip the busiest months (both tourist and insect wise). What a pitty...

If I would be doing warm weather camping I would make sure to pick a hilleberg with 2 doors or like the Anjan an option to create something like a second door for some windflow or go for the inner only and pitch a tarp over it.
When motorcycle camping in warmer weather I think I would pitch a tarp over it anyway to block some of the sun to keep the temp a bit more bearable.

I don't see my Niak venting that great but it could be hilleberg design magic, I will let you know.
I have a really good condensation tester with me. My swiss shepherd with a long double coated fur.
They say not to bring anything wet into the tent to avoid condensation... Well... Even at home when he is wet it takes the entire day and longer for him to dry out so I can tell you that I'm bringing a serious amount of water into the tent :p

And why the F would you want to camp in furness creek  seriously
I was there a couple of years ago in the summer. No way in hell that I'm going without airco in those temps...
Damn, an Akto or Enan there that is just plain torture

It is a very dark green, definitely still green though. I assumed the Hilleberg green tarp would match but they clearly don't. I very much like the dark green as I want to be stealthy. Wish the tarp was darker to match.

I just ordered the Anjan 3GT in green also. it's the 2016 model . I was worrying about the green color since it looked black on the picture. I'm good with being stealthy but not black . Should get it in a few days

The newer green sure looks black in some lighting conditions but from the inside it's clearly just a dark green.

    Rumrunner,
I have the Helinox chairs and two Helinox cot one. Do you think that the cots will damage the hilleberg floor ? . I see you have the Helinox chair on the footprint.

Nice setup . Better ventilation than the Anjan for sure

FYI: moosejaw.com is offering a 30% promotion where you receive that amount in store credit after making an initial purchase.

I'm still waiting for the Soulo to arrive but decided to also check out the 2017 Rogen so today with a purchase price of $765 US I received $229 credit which I'll use for a footprint (and other stuff I'm going to need anyway) if I decide to keep it.

(I'm going to set up both side by side and and return whichever one doesn't suit me.)

No affiliation blah blah but they were nice to deal with,

I try to do a quick clean-up of the tent location looking for sharp rocks but I'm not that worried about it to tell you the truth.

Which model is this one? I like the door configuration.

It looks like either a Nammatj GT 2 or 3. Nice tent.

Yes, as Chuck noted, it is the GT version of the Nammatj 3. The really nice feature is the bug screen on the main door opening. You can keep the main inner tent open so you have access to the vestibule, still see outside and be bug free.

Thank you both, I missed the mention of what it was. Only way for me to get that one is to find one at a steal of a price!

Need some used pricing input on my Nallo GT...

The tent is about 10yo with 7-10 (mix of CO summer and winter). It has never been repaired, stored in a large loose bag and is in excellent shape. All components (stakes, repair kit, etc) are still there. It was always hung for several days after all uses before going into storage.

I don't have any pics right at this moment, just looking for ball-park. New price is $835

For reference, here are the current specs: http://us.hilleberg.com/EN/tent/red-label-tents/nallo-2-gt/

Nammatj 3 on an abandoned airstrip out on the remote Nullarbor Plain in Australia. Nearest town with a population of more than 10 people was approx 600km west.

The train line which spans Australia east to west was about 500m from the airstrip.

Photo's taken earlier in the day before the thunderstorms turned the countryside into slush.

Sure did. 43 litre tank on the white Honda XRV750 (left of photo) + 7 litre fuel bladder. Good for over 950km on the tracks we were on (slow going). I got 4.6 litres per 100km. We were able to arrange fuel (in drums) approx 750km from last fuel bowser.

For the people interested in the color of the new green fabric.
Niak 2017 in Green vs my black sweater.

I have not had the time to compare with my older Nammatj but this way you already have an idea.

So a few weeks ago, Hilleberg marked down their 2015 Enans to $500 on their website. Personally, I prefer the 2015 Enan to the 2016+ Enan because it is Kerlon 600 rather than Kerlon 1000 and thus saves about 100g. However, they only had red Enans and, well, I'm a green Hilleberg guy. But today, I found that Mountain Steals in Michigan has green 2015 Enans for sale, for $438, and will knock off another 10% if you sign up for their email list. So I just got a green 2015 Enan for $401 shipped. Very pleased. I had an Akto and I liked it but it seemed too robust and heavy for a single-person, no-snow shelter, so I think the Enan will meet my need for buggy climates and shoulder season solo backpacking. Will let you all know what I think when I get it, but I'm hoping it's a better 1-person complement to the cuben tarp/Nammatj2/Keron3 we use now.

I am not in affiliated with them . Just passing on a good deal

    Damn that's tempting. I totally don't need a 1p tent, but still...
