Well looking at what sonnystile got for US$ 1,200 I overpaid for mine last year :-( It has a bad rear cylinder (broken belt) with an unknown amount of damage and it not cosmetically nearly as clean as sonnystile's. Besides it's black and red and I have to agree that the all red looks better :-( Also have learned the hard way that none of the independent Ducati shops in Las Vegas will work on it :-( I can do the work myself but I have too many projects so I guess the GC goes back into storage for now, damn :-(

    ????

Where did you read that I gave $1200?

I paid a fair bit more than that!

But it is immaculate and an absolute joy to ride.

The BMWRA rally is in Petoskey Michigan on July 6-9. I have some great routs up this way both on and off road. It would be great to see some more Gran Canyons in one place.

I love that area but will be over on the Canadian shore of Lake Huron the week before.

Also: are your bags on backwards?

I recently acquired two more GCs , bringing my total to 5 , there's a very good chance I may part one out , just haven't decided which one yet all are compleat and were running fine before going into storage . My original I bought new had the wheels rode of it with nothing more than basic maintaince untill I parked it in 2007 , one I bought 2 years ago had several pices of broken plastic and needed a fuel pump , I got into it then got busy with work and had to put it aside , one I bought last winter is fairly nice and a good runner that needs a clutch basket getting some TLC right now . And two I bought last week that I haven't gotten yet but have seen plenty of Picts . Send me pm's of any particulars your really interested in , that may sway my decision one way or the other .

I may be interested in a set of wheel hubs.

    Hi Cagiva549,

You did not mention the general condition of the potential parts bike, but assuming it's a working bike I really hope you do not part it out. While it may provide much needed parts for some owners, it's just kind of sad to think a working bike will never be ridden again. To me the only time it makes sense to part out one is if it is wrecked with a bent frame and could never be used again. That said, if you do part it I'd be interested in the right and left red painted side covers.

I have a good frame with clear title in NY, actually a complete roller chassis, that could be built back up with more parts if someone else is interested or if your parts need a better frame ...?

Message me if you want to figure out a deal?
I also have an engine from a Ducati 1000 DS but haven't found time to shim and bolt it into the Cagiva frame properly. It fits just needs some bits ...

It's a good chassis and motor but most plastic is damaged and I have 4 compleatly intact bikes with 3 in riding condition , one is parked waiting on a full mechanical restoration , running when parked with all good plastic , one is getting tank refinishing and basic engine maintaince right now . Two will be headed home this month both should be ready to ride as soon as they get here . I haven't made a decision yet . If there is enough interest in parts I will consider a part out , the other option is to see how good I am at plastic repair . Body work is not my best skill , I know what needs to happen , I just don't have the patience to make it happen .

Ups, it was Colorado CJ that paid $ 1,200 for one. Anyhow, I think he got a better deal than me even though his has more miles on it but at least it appears to be a runner.

Now that looks like a proper collection :-) I can match that but only in Elefant's (85-93-95-95-95).
