I had one of the good doctor's kits in my 950 for several years, when I started having intermittent fuel pump failure, usually after riding for an hour or so off-road. I eventually diagnosed the cause of the problem, the long screw that holds the plastic cover on the end of the pump body was contacting the windings of the fuel pump, due to a bit of over-tightening on my part. It was just enough contact that some heat and vibration would allow the end of the screw to work it's way through the thin shellac coating the wire of the windings and stop the whole electromagnetic process of agitating the pump shaft. I decided to but another used 950 pump I found on ebay, and install another Dr. Bean kit, just to be sure. When I contacted Dr. Bean, and explained the circumstances, he gave me a generous discount on the new kit, while assuring me the old kit could also be swapped over. He agreed that installing a new kit was not a bad idea, and that besides a seized pump shaft, an overtightened cover was about the only way to kill one of these pumps. The new/used pump seemed to have more clearance for the cover screw, as well as some sort of insulating material over the windings, so that issue should be taken care of. The new pump has been happily clicking away for a few months now, and all is well. I highly recommend installing this kit!

Hi Dr Bean, What is the current pricing for the pump? How much is shipping to the US? How long does shipping take to the US? thanks
http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/dr-beans-950-fuel-pump-kits.823347/ shipping to anywhere in the world is 2 euro US takes less than 2 weeks (10 working days), depending mainly on your local mail. usually around 9-10 calender days
''Start conversation'' options corrected. Can't figure out the logic behind ''Private conversation'' being synonymous to ''Conversation with yourself exclusivly''; looks like a prime example of a narcissistic mind at work to me... ...or to ''Me, myself & I'' should I say? ...
I think you are talking to yourself..., since this thread is about fuelpumps but any complains about the forum: please don't address to me, because I don't care since I cannot change it
